That is why I will someday have an Alfa of my very own. Preferably a GTV6 from the early 80s. That car makes me feel all funny.

Yet we never see those vids, except for straight line stuff. And when you get down to it, who cares? A good bike is more giggles per dollar than any car could hope to be. I have more fun commuting than most box jockeys get on a twisty canyon road. Isn’t that what counts?

My list of “would buy new” cars is very short. But after driving a couple of Abarths, it is at the top. Never thought I would say that about any fwd car. Just so much fun, with a fantastic engine noise.

I first became aware of this when, a couple of months ago, we had an 87 Mustang with Antique plates on it. Antique. 1987. Get off my lawn, you darn kids!

Bye, bye, baby. RIP.

Heh, I have been using it ever since. Especially after I diagnose a particularly annoying car.

I am inveeencable!

Honda will already a couple preserved. I want it for riding on a nice cool morning.

I used an 85 Caravan for several years. Manual trans, $500 to buy, and nobody would ever steal it. Plus, could sleep in it at the track.

CAme here to post this very thing. As an auto tech, I always hate to see that my next car has plate from the rust belt. I grew up in Wisconsin, left as soon as I could. Didn’t go back for that very reason, among others.

Once again, I am timely with my responses (been away a while). I once introduced a bunch of friends in California to the joy of the bratwurst. They had previously thought of it as just a “big hot dog”.

As a Marine, I approve of this image. And I am stealing it to send to my Marine buddies.

I’m stealing this.

It is a very color sensitive car that seems to work best in less flashy shades. One of our customers at work has a dark gray one which looks fantastic. I have seen a couple in BRG which also look great. And I also think they look better in person than in pictures.

I can’t get hold of a nuke, but I know a guy with a .50 cal Barrett. We could take turns punching much deserved holes in that monstrosity.

Good to hear. Shortly after you sold yours, a red 360 here in DFW got crashed while going in a straight line. I wondered if it was your recently sold car, but didn’t know until I read this post.

Catching up on Jalopnik while watching Firefly on Netflix. Now I can’t unsee that.

While I agree most motorcyclists act like pricks, so do most people in general. But filtering/lane splitting/white lining (old school there) is actually better for everyone when done properly. I spent 17 years in California, and the only issues I ever had were when some box jockey got offended and tried to race away

Can I play? As an auto tech for more years than I care to admit (and get off my lawn, that's not really off-roading), I get to see what comes in for repairs vs what comes in for maintenance.

I am with you on the taking pride in your work thing, it is how I do my job at work and sometimes the boss complains about my taking too long, yet he never complains about my lack of comebacks.
