Agreed on HIMYM. I just thought the lead character was so unappealing. Watching it in syndication I fell in love with all of the other characters. Robin Sherbatsky is one of my all-time favorites (still can’t stand Ted though).

I read a lot of them when I was young. I was a weird child going between classic literature and Stephen King. I found them romantic but as I became an adult I realized that was not romance and just obsession. That was also around the same time I stopped dating assholes and met my husband.

Oh yeah, I was the same when first watched it. Blew through the first 4 seasons (that’s all there was at the time) in like 2 or 3 weeks, it was so addicting. I even have a copy of The Bro Code, which is hilarious. There is alternative ending for the finale, so give that a watch too when you get to the end.

HIMYM is one of my absolute favorite sitcoms ever. I’m not a big fan of seasons 7 & 8 but thought the last season was a good finish. What did you think of the finale? A lot of people didn’t like it, but I thought it was really good.

Watching her this morning moved me more than I anticipated it would. It felt like, not only the end of her tenure as FLOTUS, but the end of civility, intellectualism, and empathy in Washington for a long time to come. And when she choked up near the end, I think it’s because she knows it, too.
