I’ve always taken the “sharp” part just to mean that jail really sucks, especially for someone who never thought he’d end up there. Imagine how he’s gonna feel as someone who was basically a celebrity politician at one point to be reduced to an inmate number

I don’t really believe there’s such thing as a rehabilitative jail sentence the way things work currently. And I think they have a limited deterrent effect as well. But in the case of a guy like Weiner, I think seeing the inside of a cell might inspire him to change his predatory ways.

I’m Canadian (hence the “Crown” part of my sn). It’s a different ballgame up here I think. Law enforcement down there is all about taking a pound of flesh.
