I hear Google is fantastic this time of year.

A friend of mine worked with her on Narnia and said she was one of the coolest people he has ever met. She had drinks with all the makeup artists, stunt men.. you name it. He still talks to her to this day.

The press she did for Michael Clayton should be cut together into a video instillation artwork thingy, because it very quickly became obvious she wanted to talk a LOT less about George Clooney and kick around the sociopolitical implications of her character and the actual movie. Silly pudding. :)

Misgivings aside, I actually did enjoy Lucy. Sure the science behind it isn't foundationally sound, but it was a trip.

"Lucy" was fun. It's silly but fun. And the visual effects were top-notch.

I really expected this movie to be a lot worse but I honestly think it works as a big, dumb female-driven action movie. You don't need much else once you got Jolie summoning dragons and round-housing kicking kings on top of castles.

It's not often that I am attracted to ALL the characters in a movie. Actually, I think it was the first such movie for me. Does it ever happen to anyone else?

Walking away from a "science fiction and fantasy" list that doesn't even include Interstellar.

The part where she greets the infant Aurora - you know, the scene thats almost a shot for shot remake of the animated classic - THAT'S the Maleficent I wanted. Jolie was perfectly cast and did the best she could but, ugh...what a missed opportunity.

I haven't seen most of the good this year - I guess that if you had to go to obscure quirky movies like this, it's because the mainstream was mostly meh.

Yeah, the CGI was crap, the story barely held together, most of the performances were okay at best... BUT Angelina Jolie was so damn good. When I'm rewatching it, I tend to skip the scenes without her, frankly.

Co-signed. I'm also a big believer in something Bryan Cranston said in a New Yorker profile earlier this year: "An actor can only raise the level of bad writing by a grade. C writing, and I don't care if you're Meryl Streep — you can only raise it to a B." Sony leak shit-talk aside, Joile is a magnetic presence

I know I said it before but it has to be repeated:

Tilda Swinton confirming that she IS an ageless creature of terrifying beauty.

Poor as the movie itself was, you could not take your eyes off Jolie, she just sucked you in with her performance and was the key reason to watch.

Funny enough, her general look even reminds me a bit of Elizabeth, from Bioshock Infinite. Which isn't anything bad - I thought Elizabeth was such a fantastic character :D Even if Irrational did wuss out, and not get her on the front cover of the box art. That was a sad mistake, IMO. By all means, that game was all

Hey, I'm always happy to see a new woman protagonist. I got some mad respect for Dontnod, just for that. I know they fought tooth and nail for a female protag the first time around.

I don't know why I like this blue hair so much, but it looks fab.

A new IP? I always welcome a new one from a major publisher. Sometimes they surprise you.
