The GPS feature sounds pretty sweet...would be great for something like a hike along the appalachian trail over a long period of time. Wonder how good the battery life is when using it for the navigation features though.

If you're ever diving and have a medical emergency (like suspected decompression illness), the Divers Alert Network is a good number to have handy. Obviously call 911 or the local equivalent first, but after that +1-919-684-9111 is a 24 hour hotline that can arrange help and get you info on and transportation to the…
Hate that SSN is required for completely accurate quotes. Don't know if I feel comfortable giving name, address, and DL#, and SSN to a startup site, especially one called "Leaky".
I'm glad I'm not the only one that realized this. I have got a few stares from other drivers and passengers for continuing on in my Costas during storms. But every time I take them off the visibility gets even worse. It has to be pretty damn dark for the tint of the lenses to make a difference.
I think that is the issue for editing. But FB has locked down being able to use this method, so it's a moot point now. The workaround requires jailbreaking and using a tweak from chpwn called FaceForward (get it from cydia), and still works well today.
Hmm, worked fine for me. iPhone explorer just gets you to the file to copy and lets you replace the old one once modified. When I opened it on my Mac, the file opened with another program. Forgot the name, but I think it was built into the system or came with Xcode, which I have downloaded. I also read you can use…
Just made the changes and tried it out. Very easy...takes about 5 min and no actual computer skills. UI is actually good...much better than Friendly or any of the other apps made to access facebook while waiting for a native app. There are still some problems. If you try to comment on an item in the news feed, it…
Thanks! Good find. You can also do the file modification in iPhone explorer ([www.macroplant.com] if you have the iPad connected to the computer.
Unless you live in a building with a laundry room in the basement or on the same block, the convenience factor drastically cuts down on what I would consider the break-even point. Plus, once you buy them you can move them to the place you go next. I'd put them right after a dishwasher on the list of things I wouldn't…
Nice, thanks y'all! Didn't expect that solid of a set of replies. Given that most of the Windows stuff that I have to run is very basic, and not graphically intense (like FWJRB's applications), I feel a little better about giving it a try, especially since I can get Windows 7 installed free through school's IT dept. …
I was kind of (unrealistically) hoping for a quad-core Air option. Anyone know if the dual-core i5 w/ 4GB ram will run Parallels with Windows 7 without grinding to a halt? For some school and hospital related software Windows is unfortunately still a must.
I'm guessing the air has pretty much destroyed the sales for the "lower cost" macbooks over the past 9 months. Probably not profitable to make them anymore.
I'm still trying to figure out if there's any reason to get this if I don't have a magic trackpad or mouse (using generic wireless mouse and keyboard with my mini). Seems like most of the cool features are tied into the multitouch gestures. New mail app is tempting, but that doesn't seem like a good reason to drop…
I've looked at some of these photos from twitter links on my iPad...they have pretty shitty resolution, and look bad blown up. Meant more for smartphone screens. Don't know how well they would translate to full page sized prints.
Don't ask, don't tell.
Yeah, biggest difference is that the proteins are split up into much smaller peptides, which infants aren't as likely to be allergic to. Usually it's recommended if a baby isn't doing well with normal formula and the doc thinks it could be an allergic reaction. Most extreme form of this is individual amino acids, but…
Cock push-ups have become a reality. Guess Tenacious D was just ahead of the scientific curve.
No wake zones have to be a bitch with one of these.
Considering how much these will probably cost, don't know if I'd be willing to put them through constantly being sweated on while jogging. If the P5 model is any indication though, they will definitely be worth the price for people that prefer the in-ear design.
One thing that none of the alternate browsers I have tried do in iOS: highlight and/or clear URL/omnibar contents when I tap the field the first time. I don't know about other people, but I rarely need to add things on to the current URL; much more often I just want to go to a new site. Makes more sense to go ahead…
