I guess this'll first make its way into fast food meats. In that case I could care less because the few times I go for those burgers it's certainly not because of the high-quality meat I expect to find inside.

This would be great as long as they keep the "controllable" aspect. They have a tendency to eliminate easy to implement settings on occasion *cough* ipad mute switch *cough* and I would hate to not be able to share a video with someone because both of us can't see it at one time.

Looks awesome! But unfortunately this is yet another cool piece of furniture that you can't buy :( Why don't designers actually make these things commercially available? Seems to be the problem with a lot of the furniture featured here on Giz.

That makes sense..thanks! I'm shying away from this as the website itself says individual bit mining is usually not profitable (using a mac mini, so low end CPU with low end GPU). But at least I would be less worried about people just scamming the system if I did have a worthy PC.

Is this the reason that I can go somewhere I'm familiar with (including home) and not really remember any of the trip getting there when I arrive? That's always a freaky feeling.

I look forward to watching people slam into trees (or small children) as they try to read this thing on the way down the mountain. Much better done as a HUD in goggles that were released last year: [www.reconinstruments.com] . Unnecessary either way, but at least one will lead to fewer traumatic brain injuries.

I'd take it as long as double-clicking on the tab highlights the URL for typing.

Wonder if Sony will get annoyed that this deal can be used with a bunch of their computers?

Certainly still a better deal to put in the effort to try Craigslist/Ebay, but ease of use and the payments didn't seem bad based on a quick look around. Only problem is the amount they put on the front page is the "from" amount, meaning that you have no idea what you will actually get and weather that small scratch

So I like the idea of open sourced software, but it seems like having this be the case for the mining software makes it vulnerable to be changed for the benefit of a programming-savvy miner. I certainly would have no clue how to do this, but I'm sure there are people who can. Am I right about this, or is there some

Thanks man! Unfortunately that's what I kind of expected. I guess for one-off designs that I want to keep, I'll just have to buy an enclosure for the arduino and shield, make a soldered breadboard, and buy a new arduino for prototyping. But since I'm an amateur at both electronics and programming, it may be a while

I'm getting ready to get started with arduino projects. If I end up with a prototype that I like (such as a home automation setup), how expensive/difficult is it to go from this stage to a more "finalized" design, with a custom made board and microcontroller? Or is this only feasible if you are going to be

Yeah, I could see several "indie" type groups trying to use this for their videos, with varying success. Still the big problem is being limited to the coverage area of a single wireless network at this point.

Seems like having everyone shoot their videos and stitching them together later in a basic video editor would be easier than coordinating the timing for this. But for $6, I guess it's worth it even if you only use it for one real project. Maybe would increase utility if you could connect through 3g for multiple

Definitely glad I had an expired credit card under a now incorrect address associated with my account (hadn't bought anything in a long while). Now I get all the benefit with none of the panic stricken days waiting for false charges to start showing up!

All melatonin does (at best, evidence is sketchy) is help you get back into a normal circadian rhythm if you take it at a consistant time over the course of a few days. That's why people take it for jet lag. Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) would be much more likely to make you pass out in a one time dose. This is just a

Look around the photo. "Was he just waking up?" probably provides the best clue...that's what got it for me.

If you get the PS3 version, you also get a license for a computer copy through Steam as well, which you could put on your mac. Problem solved!

Just about to post a very similar comment. I think Giz is great because it's not just an aggregation of tech press releases, but a collection of stories that catch the interest of the tech-minded editors. That doesn't always require them to be specifically gadget/tech related. Some of the human interest type stories

Definitely agree. I used to use the heart system for this when I saw a great comment but didn't actually have a constructive reply. I've heard rumors that it may be coming back, which would be nice. But just a "good job" type button could replace a lot of the lol's and lmfao's and +1's in the comments.
