I’m getting space fantasy vibes. I didn’t get a single Cyberpunk vibe. I mean, there was a robot. But robots are a space fantasy thing, too.

miHoYo? Making a space fantasy turn-based RPG?! It’s like these fuckers are trying to annihilate me. My productivity feels personally attacked.😭
I’m in the same boat playing through Neo The World Ends With You. It’s one of those JRPGs I actually want to play and discover everything and it reminds me of the RPGs Inplayed as a kid I’m not sure I’ve felt that way about a JRPG since... Dragon’s Dogma maybe?
Thank you for pointing out what a bunch of younglings wont understand hahaha, I can visually see this in my hands and me trying to angle my GBA away from the sun.
For those who didn’t buy them previously, it’s nice to have a new release. Also for console gamers who don’t have a spare machine to hack.
Super Mario Bros wasn’t an arcade game.
You can join the Half Life and MegaMan legends fans in our support group. We’re all very bitter.
See, I’m not even sure that was the problem. It’s not that expanding on Samus’ character is inherently problematic; the problem came from how they expanded upon and it and why.
This game was legit good, and a lot of fun in co-op.
I would love to find out the plot was the same in the spy thriller version diamond skull and all.
You know, 50’s kid probably created all sorts of work for them with that helicopter thing, but he wasn’t exactly wrong in the end either. Kids like big, stupid fun, and that was that game’s vibe.
I generally tend toward making nicer decisions in games, but man, going through as a dark-side female jedi with a focus on charisma/manipulation brought out some of the best dialogue, in a game that already featured HK-47.
It’s enjoyable, but the best part is the visuals. “Sumptuous” is the word that comes to mind thinking of the colors and textures in that movie. Plus the dress! To me, a not insignificant factor in a Cinderella adaptaion is The Dress. Both the 2015 Cinderella and Ever After succeeded in that category.
I almost forgot to mention that Revan technically has a voice over in The Old Republic. I never played it and know very little about it, but I remember watching a cutscene on youtube of him speaking. Not sure what the reception was to that, but I’m gonna assume he’ll be recast. Plus that version went with the…
One of the best moments, which is fleeting but, as always, Angelica Huston sells the hell out of it, is when Rodmilla casually mentions how her mother never found anything clean enough and would make her scrub her skin until it was raw.
I’m kind of expecting some large revamps in some places, but I think I’d still prefer the combat stay mostly the same, but I guess look a little flashier. Fidelity to the original is something I think most fans want, but I can see the dual-wielding lightsaber attack animations looping in my head and it feels a bit…
I see three degrees of “remaking” nostalgia games:
Behold: Baroness Rodmilla de Ghent! Now that’s how you write a Big Bad! Ever After endures because it delivers not only a great hero but also a great villain.
Is it just me or did all of the acting seem super awkward? Like the dialog is of course out of context, but it still felt off. Combine that with poor camera angle choices and weird clips that don’t make sense (2:33 for example) and its a pretty bad trailer.
I am a fan of the school of thought that Cinderella’s kindness has been unfairly maligned over the years. (In addition to the video above, this point recently appeared in a very good article in Slate: https://slate.com/culture/2021/09/ted-lasso-and-cinderella-the-apple-tv-show-and-amazons-movie-differ-on-the-importance…
