I think the biggest thing was blaming others. I don’t think she’s a great actress, she has a reputation (deserved or not) as “difficult”, and, obviously, the shadow of sexism in Hollywood. But all of that is stuff she could have owned. As soon as she said her performance sucked because she got substandard material,

Ilike all the Avengers movies and I hope this one will be good too.

Not that I think there was a huge groundswell of demand for this movie, but it certainly didn’t help to wait nine years. I do think a lot more people were excited for more Furiosa after the first movie, and interest just waned over time.

Yeah I mean who besides internet film nerds even recognizes Furiosa’s name? Film Twitter enthusiasm ≠ normie moviegoer enthusiasm.

Hot take! We got a hot take over here!

1980s I worked at a supermarket in High School and we went to concerts all the damn time. Minimum wage was $3.35 and a ticket for a headliner at the Meadowlands was $12.50

Vision was the best Avenger when I was growing up in the 1970s.

GoT had more fun characters because the source material was more fleshed out with them. HotD’s source material is basically a historical reference manual. Now that doesn’t prevent the people involved with the show from venturing off the source material path and adding whatever they see fit, but I’m just saying that’s

“the infamous Dance of the Dragons that put an end to Targaryen rule in Westeros—until Dany trots along” I’m no expert on Westreros, but don’t the Targaryen’s continue to rule until Robert’s Rebellion which sets the stage for GOT?

Considering Last Jedi is my favorite outside of the originals, I don’t think my view is especially narrow. I felt TPM misfired on each and every level, and I’m decidedly not some Star Wars die-hard. Too geared towards children (not young audiences, actual children), had terrible digital effects, dialogue that somehow

Glee was only truly self-aware for the first 13 episodes. It went downhill extremely quickly after that.

At least someone’s still keeping the tradition alive. Not many of us left now.

Iger saying they are excited about the Avengers movies tells me that he/they do not understand what made the original Avengers movies great.

As mentioned in the article, fans were invested in the original Avengers. The solo movies were mostly good and we loved seeing them team-up. The movies since Endgame have not been

I fuckin love you Vin, you shiny muscular nerd. It’s such a charmingly weird passion project he’s kept going and I hope he makes at least one every decade for the rest of his life. Watch these movies if you like Vin having some fun, schlocky sci-fi done well, or the performances of top tier sci-fi character actors

It also has the theme song of the show the movie seems to have forgotten until the end credits and the mid credit scene.

Now playing

I was reading through the list think , oh I’ll have to add “This is a Low” to the comments as its a beautiful, sad , absolute gem of a song . So I was delighted to see it at number one.

Not expecting it to make the top 10 or anything, but I rate “On Your Own” over most of these.

It’s still a fun show, even if it’s quality has slid downward and its worldbuilding has become rather silly.  It seems hard to believe that the first season was a grounded exploration of a middle aged slacker learning to take control of his life, and how responsibilities and human connections make people stronger and

Splitting a single 15 episode season into 3 parts is fucking dumb. I’ll wait till the entire season is out before I start no I won’t I already know I won’t.
