Right, so someone who could’ve done it right for the movie.

Yes, reproducing the video game’s accent was probably a big sticking point. But I think they could’ve still made some effort to hire someone of Italian descent who could’ve done a more natural and accurate accent.

As reported here he says more often “person of color” than specifically Latino (and yes, calling for them to be Latino doesn’t make sense). Does he consider Italians persons of color?

Yes, the central theme had definitely been of everyone dealing with the aftermath, while this multiverse threat grows because everyone is too self-involved to be paying attention. There’s a sub theme of heroic legacy, with lots of new heroes taking up the mantles of old ones.

It’s been 30 years since I saw it, but my biggest disappointment watching it as a kid is that it felt less like cool young Indiana Jones adventures and more like a kind of educational drama. Felt like every episode had some kind of historical figure guest starring, which strained credulity for me even as a kid that

I’ve read rumors that his writing style is to throw out stuff entirely during editing  and rewrite it from scratch. So it could be the case that he makes lots of progress and is confident, only to decide he didn’t like what he’d written and scrap it entirely a few days after those quotes.

It’s fascinating to see the end result of Disney’s firing of Gunn a few years ago.

And I really want to see the Rock beat up by Shazam.

That sounds so epic. I was really hoping Helen Mirren would return to play the character in the final seasons of The Crown, but she nixed that idea early on.  I would love to see this play.

Have you checked out Peter Morgan’s play, The Audience? It’s just the Queen and her different PMs in a series of two person scenes. I started to read it early on while watching The Crown and stopped when I realized some of the scenes were being repeated verbatim in the show- I didn’t want to be spoiled.

It’s not like they thought they could make a drama series about the life of Queen Elizabeth II that charts decades of royal storylines without someday getting to Princess Diana’s death.

I agree with lots of what you say.

But it’s also clear GRRM didn’t research how genetics really works and instead just came up with rules like all Baratheons having black hair regardless of intermarriage because it was convenient for his plot.

The thing about Namor is that he just can’t be a villain. Like in the comics, he has to have an agency and agenda of his own, that sometimes coincides with the heroes but is never purely “evil” but rather within the best interests of his people. It is when his kingdom’s agenda is in conflict with other heroes that

What is so unfranchisable about movies where dinosaurs chase people?

Was it part of his estate plans for these to be published?  Seems kind of ghoulish if not- I would be mortified at the thought of my private writings being published after my death.

Since they’ve not banned a bunch of other cards that specifically target Black creatures, I think the main problem with that specific card is the name (Cleanse) in conjunction with its effect.

Filmmakers can mean more than just directors, right? He probably means anyone involved in the business of making films (which encompasses studio heads and producers, ie-the money) that are not just going to sacrifice work for a quick buck.

The prequel aspect turned off most fans, I believe. It somehow had to answer for what happened to Nat in Endgame, and set off the brand new direction of Phase 4.

It astounds me that they created Holdo when Leia was right there and capable of serving the same part! It would’ve been a wonderful mirror to the Luke-Rey story, with Leia having problems with her would-be successor. And it just would’ve been more time with Carrie Fisher after TFA terribly underused her!
