Certain things are important to me, we all have our dealbreakers~
Hey, if it makes you feel any better when my parents divorced when I was in high school my dad found a cool nerdy lady to remarry not too long after (a year and a half I believe?) and he had 2 younger kids as well. There’s hope!
I love this series! At first I was drawn in when I heard it would ve figure skating, I love sports animes that focus on individual sports rather than team ones because the dynamic is so different. It’s about the individual’s motivation/goals vs team comradeship.
When I first saw pictures of this game (non nude ones) I thought it was a submissive man with a domme woman and was so excited!! While this still seems like an interesting game I’m so bored of having a woman as a sub as the default of most of bdsm sexuality, props for it being 2 women at least!
Fun-fact the female anime watching audience in Japan also contributes a huge amount to sales (At least recently) With the onset of more female oriented shows like the comedy series Osomatsu-san. For a while OSomatsu-san dvd/blu-ray sales were CRAZY HIGH at first place in dvd sales with 43,313 units sold, 2nd place for…
But fictional things influence real behavior, sexual assault of children and minors is becoming a VERY big deal in Japan. Sexual assault of legally aged women too is such a huge problem, there’s women only train cars and I think that says A LOT on the state of things in Japan concerning the treatment of women. What we…
Yeah Nihei’s older manga were way more avant garde/niche and I miss that! While I really like Sidonia overall (his art certainly evolved into such a beautiful detailed style) I wish EVERY SINGLE female character didn’t fall in love with boring main boy.
Yuri on Ice is so GOOD, I’m so excited more male character based fan service is becoming the norm since there’s certainly a market for it. But The plot of Yuri on Ice alone is interesting enough, I’d still be watching it whether or not there was man-butt to oogle.
Mononoke (the series not the ghibli film), Mushishi, Planetes, Monster(which is basically just a drama/murder mystery that just happens to be animated, very mature and interesting story!), Paranoia Agent (By the late/wonderful anime director Satoshi Kon, all his works are great!)
You are killing it in this thread with some excellent reasoning and discussion!!
You articulated what I wanted to say so perfectly!! In the anime/otaku community for example there’s SUCH a huge problem with underage and very young women getting hit on and groped by adult men at cons. Because anime/hentai normalizes the sexualization of teen girls and also sexually harassing behavior is seen as…
But what we see in fiction DOES influence us to a degree. If we’re repeatedly exposed to certain behaviors over time it just kinda gets normalized.
It’s so rare for me to actually pay attention to new anime that comes out when so much of it is stupid fan service anime like this *sigh*
I date women as well as men and generally haven’t had any issues finding nerdy women myself. But then again I guess I’m not dating straight women haha.
Watching Yuri on Ice for sure!! I love sports animes but they’re usually always team sports, so it’s neat to see the dynamic shift between team work and an individual’s drive. They also got a famous ice skater to oversee all the choreography so it looks really fluid and authentic!
Exactly!! I tried my hardest to make things work with non gamers in the past, but it’s so hard when you have all this enthusiasm and excitement and want to share it with someone but they’re just “meh” or ‘Why would you spend time on something so childish/unproductive”.
Perhaps its a West Coast thing haha
Well I’m not saying gaming is my only hobby and that couples should share all of their interests; but for me it’s a BIG aspect of my life and it’s a bummer when your SO has little to no interest in a major hobby. I have lot’s of hobbies I don’t tend to share with SO’s because they tend to be more singular actives, I’m…
YES!! Sometimes it’s us girls who are the bigger gamers than boys haha.
As a lady, I will NEVER date a dude who isn’t into gaming. I’ve dated a couple dudes who casually played games on pc from time to time but it sucks when your biggest passion can’t be matched by your SO.
