Ryan Dungey was a class act his entire career. Probably the hardest-working and most analytical rider I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been doing this sport for multiple decades. He’s got nothing left to prove. Going out on top!

Can’t say anyone is super surprised, sad to see him go. He was an amazing ambassador to the sport and really helped push motocross in the US forward. You can say what you want about his skills/riding abilities/whatnot, dude was a true champ on and off the track.

Got to meet Ryan at a friends track here in Minnesota in 2008. I was too intimidated to go on the track with him. We just watched him haul ass. He scrubbed everything. Super nice guy and one of the greatest spokespersons for the sport. Will be missed.

This was my friend and I’s prediction after the season finale. He “struggled” a lot during the season (at least by his own standards) and won less than half as many races as Tomac. So he seemed to be in the same place that Villipoto was, where he just didn’t quite have the drive he once did. To me he has nothing left

They are not all scary! Mine is cute as a button.

What are you talking about? There was a review of the FZ-10 back on Feb. 7th and then there was something about Alta electric dirt bikes last month. What more do you want from a motorcycle blog?

I’d love some new reviews.

I agree. Indian Motorcycle has released (3) new models in the past (4) weeks and not one article. Also, they (Indian Motorcycle) won the flat track opener with a 1-2 finish, swept the podium the following week, and then did a 1-2 finish last weekend and not one article.

Thank you for this depressing news. I have been staying away from Jalopnik for a while after all the political crap it was posting rather than auto journalism. I finally come back and find out that my favorite motorcycle writer is gone.

Nothing but the easy clicks these days. Hard to find good, outside the mainstream, moto journalism anymore.

I was not aware of this. Thanks for sharing. I suppose not too surprising considering the level of integrity at Gawker...

And then they went and banned anyone who complained about how Sean was treated from commenting: a position below being grey’d.

Sean made it pretty clear, more than once, that it was Gawker’s decision to let him go.

Don’t forget out doggos!

It’s like Popeye got hit with a stun gun.

Bullshit.

From one woman to another: hell yes! And thank you. :)

When a woman writes about cars on the internet, there are plenty of people who respect her words. But there are also

I can’t figure out why they wouldn’t let you drive anything.
