I recently rewatched all of those along with Double Life and found them kind of disappointingly middlebrow now. Certainly not bad, just full of "profound" stuff more likely to impress the youth I was. Now I'm reluctant to revisit Short Film About Love.

Fear. I never understand why Fear is not regarded as one of the top 100 albums of all time. Fear.

The Office can easily be traced back to Alan Partridge, which can somewhat be traced back to The Newsroom (no, not the new one, obv).

I'm only mildly embarrassed to say that I own three different film prints of Rollercoaster…none in Sensurround, sadly…

Wow…any criticism of the movie means the critic is wrong. What an amazing argument! I actually really liked the movie…I said above I would not cut anything with dialogue (except to handle the dialogue of the strangers differently). So I have no idea what you mean by your second sentence. And if I wasn't able to *feel*

In fact, to see what he is going for done well, you need only to turn to, of all things, the movie Rollercoaster with George Segal. In the midst of a thriller set in amusement parks, you constantly overhear, just slipping by, all these little snippy conversations families are having with each other. It isn't made a

Ditto—a small but sumptuous film. One has to wonder how the authors can readily assign Oscar ambitions to the filmmakers, perhaps never less so than with this film.
EDIT: either the comment this was a reply to disappeared, or Disqus is fucking with me (just like it won't show my avartar). Anyway, this was re: Painted

I once watched 24 in 24 hours. It wasn't as good as watching another season in 48hrs. Watching it in a 24hr period, you start to find yourself simply gazing away from the TV occasionally, like it's visual wallpaper. 48 hrs was great, though.
