This seems from the clip exactly like one of those really old SNL shorts that were amateurish, flat, and not especially funny, but had their heart in the right place and seemed to be enjoying doing their thing.

Who's that chick/ what's the movie at :48, with Spy Hunter in the background? Know I recognize her/ the film, but can't place the movie from the ones listed. Driving me nuts. I guess Spy Hunter came out in 1983 so that should narrow it down, but still no luck.

ah, deleted

Pegging "Her Majesty" as sentimental fluff seems remarkably clueless. I mean, remarkably.

Gee, Skyler wasted no time accessorizing her downward mobility with some heavy tattoo action.

somebody sneezed explosively at my screening right as that sound cut off, and i spent the next minute trying to quell my hysterical silent giggles.

The Long Goodbye, where the camera zooms in on two dogs humping in the background, which is just juvenile until the decision is rewarded as the one dog suddenly snarls and snaps at the other.

Whether you make money off of something or "bring attention to old songs" has nothing to do with fair use.

Jesus—is GWAR your idea of something raw or edgy?
I love it when he tells the guitarist to "take it" and this thin, wimpy, polite little solo follows. It's a lot like KISS—I was always fascinated by how bland music by guys like this always is.

so…a guy from GWAR is complaining that something is a shitty cartoon that only kids should like?

Kind of makes sense that they did this at Amoeba since this feature idea is actually something they came up with and do regularly.
Also, Moby was suprisingly funny and verbally adroit on WTF.

He's saying (or continuing to make the point, rather) that the movie was disorganized…there was no reason to keep a respected veteran actor up til 5am just to have a bag over his head.

Ooh, that's a great one—that's my favorite album by Costello, actually.

that's cool…i just figured it was a misunderstanding anyway. if i thought someone was being a dick to me i wouldn't hesitate to be a dick back, so…

He thought I was just hassling them to get up there and play already. It may have been ambiguous wording on my part, or maybe he's a jerk, dunno. They were great as early Mekons, though.

Hmm, the Sadies. They did a killer job doing Mekons covers as the openers for the Mekons' anniversary shows. At Maxwells, I was wondering before the show if I had enough time to go outside and get a cigarette, bc I didn't want to miss any of their set, having loved them the previous night. So when that dude on the

This was the first Elvis Costello song I ever heard. It was in art class in high school and I said, "who's this asshole singing out of tune?" Because, let's face it, the title is sung quite a bit off. And a punk girl (derisively nicknamed Steph-oi) immediately attacked me for assailing him, with a vehemence that led

Psycho Cupid is a bad song?
