Scout is a dumb name - ok sure Beavis

“Why would the best, most effective value proposition to distribute vehicles to customers not be your first choice?” Devlin asked Auto News. “And why would you reject an existing distribution and sales system that already exists?”

Fuck the dealers. But will they get so pissy that they refuse to service them?

I thought most of the articles I read about dealerships and electric vehicles was that they hated selling them, to the point they were sabotaging their own electric car sales. Now they’re mad that they’re being cut out of the process they cratered.

If dealers want to not be cut out, they should consider not being utter shit.

Every single sane person wanting to buy a car : “NADA go fuck yourself.”

Yeah I’m a pretty big Rivian fanboy and was probably going to pull the trigger on the Gen 2 R1T next year, but... dang. This is good enough to have me wondering if I should wait even though that would mean limping my current car to 15 years and >200k miles.

Cool, but do they have frequently failing nylon fasteners holding the wiring harness together at the firewall and do they start to rust within minutes of purchase?

Agreed. They nailed it. I no longer want a Rivian.

It really shows how Ford has confidence in the reliability of its products if they include, as a perk, a membership to a rental car company.

‘’ There’s also other little perks like free car washes at the dealer, a premium maintenance plan for four years or 50,000 miles and a President’s Club membership with Avis ‘’.

People said the same about early EVs and how once the wave of early adopters was done the sales would plummet. That never happened, and yearly sales continue to grow. Even with the CT, there will be that rush of early adopters who are willing to part with $100k however I believe it will continue to sell well as long

As much as I hate the Cybertruck, this is completely normal for a lightbar. It’s why no OEMs sell them or install them. And as for soldering.. uhh.. I do it all the time and I’ve never had one fail. I use quick connects for lightbars and other accessories usually, but I’ve spliced wires with solder so many times over

I’m all for shitting on Tesla any day of the week, but this is a non-issue. Light bars ARE illegal for on-road use. No OEM even offers them. Off-road focused vehicles do come with the auxiliary switches for them, but the purchase and installation is up to the owner.

I hate to argue, but 20 years a licensed automotive service tech, I’d much rather have my wiring held together by properly soldered and heat shrunk wiring, rather than crimped connectors.

What makes an executive sedan?

The EV market isn’t cratering. It just isn’t growing as fast as predicted. U.S. EV market share reached a new high of 8.9% in Q3 2024

The guy’s just a dork-ass loser who got his start with a creepier version of Hot or Not...”

False. It takes 2.3 seconds to say “split tailgate”. Meanwhile, the average transaction time for a new Expedition is 5.9 hours.

Conspirator much... ?

Isnt that why chargers use aluminum for their cables now?  I thought I read that.  Because otherwise, yeah, thats a ton of free copper literally hanging around.
