The styling is a real step down from previous generations. The Conti was always a big, bulbous, curvy car. It’s thiccness in 4-wheeled form. This one is really squared off, and they keep making the grille bigger with every update. It’s ruined the whole look. And the quad headlights were iconic. These giant single

Not a single person can give me a compelling reason to own an EV that doesn’t include 1. responsibility to our planet, 2. not going to the gas station, 3. hauling kids around...

Right idea but wrong model. Model S Wagon would be so great. A couple custom conversions exist but I think this should have been a consideration from the factory. Imagine a plaid model S wagon. Go from 2second 0-60 times at the track to picking up a 2nd hand bookshelf on the way home. Just so much potential.

I did a quick edit of the photo I posted for fun.

I’ll take mine in the Performance trim please:

And looks like a $35 entry suv.

80K??  Insanity.

It’s deceptively large. Those dimensions are very similar to a BMW X5. Maybe the sweptback design makes the Polestar appear smaller.

It’s nice looking , but man fuck you Tesla for convincing all the other automakers they can be cheap bastards and just put EVERYTHING in a damn screen.

Didn’t we just read how Polestar is losing money? I’m no Warren Buffet, but $80K+ cars that eek out 300 miles of range and look like...everything don’t exactly seem like a buoyant life preserver.

Oh well is a good thing for you there are no examples of any gas powered cars that have crashed into a building and killed their occupants.

7th to 8th gen Impala.

Fucking stupid. These are professional athletes, they are going to swear.

The 4th to the 5th generation of the Lexus LS (and most of the Lexus’ that went full Predator face) for me:

Uh-oh. This is opening a huge can of worms for car enthusiasts. Cobb is by far not the only ones making devices to help you remove your precats and cats. If the EPA really wants to stretch things they could sue the people making the skip-shift delete devices for GM muscle cars, on the theory that skip shift is helping

You can change the level of regenerative braking on the Tesla, from what I recall. Not sure if you can completely turn it off on the Tesla (I drive a Kia EV6 and you can turn regenerative braking off).
Either way, I’m not seeing your point here. You don’t have to keep the foot on the gas pedal for a controlled slow

And they are wrong?

Teslas are definitely not known to have bugs after updates where people can’t open their doors, even with the manual latch

Why was that? Were the doors wedged shut (as can happen to any car) or were they unable to open the doors because Tesla won’t install actual door handles?

Why would you assume that? I mean it could be, but it could also be the 70 year old just hit the accelerator and panicked like many old people do. If it was anything but a Tesla, that would be the likely assumption, right?
