There’s so many repetitions of lines like “yes, go ahead and go” that it started to be really funny. They’re so careful to emphasize that he’s not trying to coerce her into staying, that it ends up sounding like he really wants to get rid of her. “Yeah yeah tonight was fun and all, but your driver’s here, can you just

This reminds me very strongly of Where the Wild Things Are, in terms of being a movie about childhood that isn’t for children. I’m intrigued!

She’s popular with nerds because she played the love interest in Scott Pilgrim. But the film you should check out is 10 Cloverfield Lane, it’s a great movie and she’s great in it.

It would be nice to see the MCU get some kind of one-off “Outstanding Achievement in Serial Filmmaking” Oscar. They’ve been consistently pulling off something that no one else has ever done before, and that merits some kind of recognition.

You’d be surprised how common bladder issues are. It’s embarrassing to talk about because unless they’ve experienced it themselves, many people react like you do: “what are you, a child??”

Groups of people who cannot consistently go 6+ hours without a bathroom include: sick people, diabetics, old people, children,

This issue is what killed Food Network competitions like Chopped for me. The producers want so badly to maintain suspense about who gets eliminated that they withhold information from the audience and edit it to look like every contestant has done equally well. This just makes the result feel like a coin flip, and

On one hand, I can understand the decision, because Men’s Wearhouse comes across as terminally uncool. On the other hand, was that image really hurting them? There’s lots of guys who don’t care about fashion much and just need a boring old suit for a wedding/prom/whatever. Chances are that trying to make themselves

People think poodles are ugly because everyone gives them stupid haircuts. If you keep their hair trimmed short they’re actually really elegant dogs. And labradoodles can be stunning with short hair - like a really sleek, lanky lab.

“people are bothered that someone would pay thousands of dollars for an inhumanely bred dog based on its looks.”

I don’t get the outrage about “designer dogs” - this is how tons of dog breeds were created in the first place. If anything they should be healthier thanks to hybrid vigor; the idea that mixing somehow introduces disease or makes dogs crazy is some weird kind of racism.

As someone who gets panic attacks, I really wish people wouldn’t be so dismissive of psychological side effects of drugs. Its common to “have a bad time” on weed. In how many people does that lead to long-term panic disorder? What about psychotic episodes triggering schizophrenia? Both of those things can be hugely

This sort of phenomenon is why etymology is so difficult to study - it’s easy to get fooled by clever stories of the origins of words, but often the real story is basically the 1600's version of “a group of teens somewhere had a friend named John with a mildly annoying habit.”

I really wonder what would have happened to Jenson Ackles career if Supernatural had been canceled early on (it seems weird looking back now, but it rode on the edge of cancellation for most of the early seasons). Ackles has so much charisma, there’s a good chance Marvel would have snapped him up and made him a big

I can understand banning wearing sunscreen within a mile or two of a coral reef, but it’s hard to believe enough sunscreen exists in the world to contaminate the entire ocean.

It’s kind of sad that he thinks he got one over on the show. The show got exactly what it was looking for out of him - an over-the-top character who does wacky shit to keep audiences entertained (but not so wacky that he doesn’t actually participate in the show). He’s far from the first person to do this.

Taylor has a pretty distinctive lyrical voice. The music has changed from country-pop to pop-pop, but the way she writes hasn’t changed much. I don’t think her output would be so coherent if it was all written by committee. Plus if her shtick was that easy to imitate, other stars would be doing it.

I’d argue the proper analogy is actually Zuckerberg/Winklevii.

Yeah that comment was really strange out of context. I find it hard to believe Emily Blunt would sign on to such a thankless role, she’s a big enough star to be choosy with her projects.

This was filmed back in 2017, so it predates his breakdown. As for why it’s been sitting around collecting dust for 2 years... that’s usually a sign that the studio’s expecting it to flop hard.

To be fair, I’m pretty sure that photo’s from the Met Gala, where being over the top is kind of the point.
