I agree! It sucks I have to write like that to avoid getting sued for libel, and I wish I could comfortably use different language!

I couldn’t find an article that confirms that, exactly, but I did find one from a couple years ago that confirms that legislatures were contemplating bills that would shift the liability burden onto protesters that get hit. It doesn’t mention any of them successfully being passed, however. Still, I suppose some of

Found it! I goofed. These are proposed laws.

What in the actual fuck?

I read recently (on Slate?) that the reason cars keep plowing into protestors is because Republican legislatures and governors have passed laws to exempt these drivers from serious charges. Basically these laws assume that when a car plows into a protest, it’s an accident.

I want car insurance companies to put out a PSA: If you hit a pedestrian with your vehicle, we will drop you and not protect you from the lawsuit you deserve, and no other insurance company will ever issue you a policy ever again. I think these domestic terrorists feel righteous until someone without a political stake

Now playing

Yay! And remember how the repubs freaked out over this?

B...b..but the National Review headline that appeared despite my having a “show less from...” request said that she faced “serious challengers” and had been exposed an “extremist fraud” to her constituents!!!!

50 bucks says New York redraws their districts so Bowman and Ocasio-Cortez will have to run against each other- it’s not what I want to happen but it’s what I expect to happen especially since they’re expected to lose a district after the next census

I look forward to seeing what happens next. Hopefully, Berman doesn’t just roll over. American politics, what a f*cking clown car.

This seems totally normal and above board.

Seems like the public spectacle was Barr lying about his intending to resign. Maybe Barr should fire himself.

I have a feeling that this is because Berman didn’t want to participate in some sham investigation and prosecution of Biden and whoever his VP is more than it is about covering up or shutting down any investigations. The reason being is that there are too many nonpartisan career prosecutors, paralegals, investigators

This is my understanding: Berman was appointed by Mitch McConnell (as per law) because Dumbfuckerstein never put up a nominee. After the initial interim term expired, it was extended by Congress, and the laws governing all this say that he can only be replaced by an actual replacement approved by the Senate - not by

Being as critical of Trump then as she is now, if memory serves.

She would’ve been brushed off and called a liar just like anyone else who has come out against him his whole life. The idiots who like him would not have been swayed just because she’s a family member.

I remember people talking about this then, but it never seemed to get any traction.

Yeah, this is where I remind people that, as someone on the high-functioning end of the autism spectrum and depression, we need to stop putting racism in the “mentally-ill” bag. Nobody’s objecting to mental illness here. They’re objecting to Ms. Cooper’s racism. And while there can be overlap between racist beliefs

Can we take a moment to talk about dog park Karen’s “apology.” She knew what she was doing. Her excuse that she didn’t makes me hate her more. She doubled down, in her apology she’s trying to make herself the victim again. She’s earned everything that has come her way. And I’m tired of them bringing out out the tired
