I think they lost it long before then. The problem for me was when they completely dropped the “secret identity” aspects and the “normal” life stories that interwove with the agency stuff. When was the episode they killed off her roommate? Late season 2? That’s when it changed forever - just took a while to realize…
So the difference is my total lack of tact. ... I can see that. :)
