Zuckerberg saw how long Steve Jobs had to wait for a liver and just wants to be prepared.

will this park be considered canonical?

The funniest one is Panera. They have fancy signs on the wall saying something to the tune of "Free Wi-Fi Available - 802.11b/g compatible" They bothered to write out the techy stuff but couldn't say what the name of the network was.

I'm not worried about the people on the local coffee shop's wifi. I'm worried about the people on the wrong wifi.

I have no idea if that would be possible. I suspect if it *was* possible then there would be a setting for it. eg, if you could free up the graphics processor to think half as fast, you'd want to, right? I doubt it'd just be the cost of the circuits, we've had variable speed processors for years and the batter

*shrug* I always thought of him also as that narrator from In Search Of...

No idea about publishing a windows app. The issue with something like Nook instead of generic e-reader software is going to be the DRM side of the Nook files. Maybe that makes this not so practical to code? (eg, Apple has lots of rules about how apps can access the web.)

root for the consumer.

well, in a few months we'll see what happens with Tor giving up DRM. Either it will turn out to be a bad idea, or every other company will join the bandwagon.

They can somehow attribute this to wind farms while only speculating on the actual connection between this and the wind farm? um... yeah. Come back to me with a proven hypothesis.

If you're putting it inside a case (and really, you need a case for an ereader or the screen will take a beating) then it's actually cheaper to just buy a case with a light. That's around $20 or so difference in price. Of course, that may be an easier argument to make for Kindles that power their own case lights,

um... I'm only talking about e-books. In the Kindle store.

I dunno. For something that's designed to be stared at as its one purpose, anything affecting how you stare it at is worth noting. In fact, the way they phrased it in the article makes me wonder why they gave it such a recommendation over that. On the other hand, I use a case on my reader that gives an added border

because it's completely different technology.

as far as the store comparison, I find it's not just the inventory itself, but it's also the prices. Now, quick comparisons show they're about the same because of agency pricing (and I'll not try to predict what may happen in the future) but I've noticed that Amazon tends to have a lot more sales and specials than

or Fox News?

Because the best time to preach about not protecting against communicable disease would be inside a hermetically sealed container a few thousand miles above the earth! This is the perfect audience for that paranoid delusion!

it's not only about fitting in the tube, you have to make sure you'll fit thru the hatch that's about half the size of the tube :)

"Too small? Ooh, you probably won't get up enough speed to clear the top"

Here. There is no Massive Dynamic building over there.
