I say get two cats like us except the calico likes to swagger into the livingroom with her trophy and drop a live one in the middle of the room and play with it till I trap it and get rid of it.

Get a cat, preferably from a shelter. Setup night-vision cameras in your house to record said cat taking its time in murdering the mouse. You can even setup a drinking game for watching the video, if the cat does something entertaining, drink. Please remember to call an ambulance when you suffer alcohol poisoning.
