Because being a public face of an abusive cult is shameful?

That would be a pretty good reason to not talk about it.

Probably for the same reason I don’t tell people I masturbate behind my local Souplantation and save my jizz in Slush Puppie cups - because people would judge me for being a fucking weirdo.

This pseudo-religion is long overdue for a reformation.

Because that’s the role she’s been assigned by the cult. She’s to be out in the world and seem like she’s just a regular person. See, scientology isn’t like you’ve heard! Elisabeth Moss! She’s normal! And seemingly well adjusted!

It’s weird to me that the star of a show about the horrors of life under religious extremists is in a fucking cult.

She’s lowkey accusing the well-documented history of abuses, harassment, corruption, lies, and death to be misinformation. She’s also forgetting that their doors are only open if you pay money and sign away your right to sue them. I hate how she’s this good of an actress and so unwilling to critically examine her own

Boy, she drank the entire pitcher of kool aid!

Cults tend to be.

I remember in the 90's they came to Portland took over a beautiful old downtown building.
I’m not sure what’s happened to them since, they’ve certainly lowered their profile. It used to be hard to walk around that area without getting accosted to take a personality test.

Because it costs a lot of money to run giant, nearly-empty buildings worldwide just to keep things upstat. Praise LRH! Hip hip, hooray!

Response to headline before reading.

poppin’ plenty of pinks and greys to research those higher degrees!

Those old buildings they own are gorgeous and it’s a such a shame they belong to criminal cult.

The Church of Scientology has been the largest landowner in Hollywood for a while now. In order to maintain its not for profit status it has to consistently reinvest a minimum amount of the money that comes in, and they’ve done that buying local real estate. At this point it’s a perpetual motion money machine.

Deep down they have to know the religious element is absurd on its face, thus a lot of vague deflection and whataboutism. I mean Hubbard all but admitted it was a scam.

That bullshit made up by a below average science fiction writer and active pedophile counts as even a pseudo-religion is so, so sad.

Moss politely responds

A lot of my issues with celebrity Scientologists is that they seem delusional compared to other religious celebrities. Like when evidence came about about the Roman Catholic Church we didn’t hear Stephen Colbert act like these allegations are ludicrous. It is perfectly possible that the Church of Scientology is a safe

Whatever. She works in an industry particularly suited for wealthy ambitious people who pretend to be someone else for a living. Scientology would seem to be the perfect ‘spiritual’ complement to the profession and its lifestyles. It’s all emptiness and vanity. Scientology can’t reinvent itself - or redeem itself -

Shoulda kept not talking about it...
