No, nobody should get run over. Assholes that block the road should be jailed for some time, though. Assholes on Internet forums saying that people should be cool with assholes blocking the road for no good goddamn reason should just be mocked like the fuckwits they are. Fuckwit.

In what way does blocking the freeway grant rights to the disadvantaged? It does not. It is just being an asshole.

Blocking a freeway is not legitimate and is not legal. Hitting someone with your car is not legal either, and shouldn’t be, but that doesn’t excuse the assholes blocking the road.

There’s no fucking correlation between those things. The poor commuters just trying to go about their lives aren’t the ones executing black people — that’s the police. I’m totally on the side that cops shouldn’t get away with wantonly killing black people, but I’m also opposed to assholes blocking the freeway.

Wow, in a thread full of stupid, that is a particularly stupid post. So... congratulations?

The first amendment does not give you the right to block the freeway, you complete moron.

If you’re blocked by a wall of assholes on the freeway with 1000 other cars behind you, you cannot “find another way”. So you advocate just abandoning my car on the freeway and walking the 10 miles to work? That’s really fucking stupid.

People do not have the right to block the freeway. Freedom of assembly does not mean you can assemble anywhere you want. You can’t invade private property and claim you’re freely assembling. You can’t go to the Pentagon and hang out with a mob. You can’t stand around on the fucking freeway.

I’d say 90 days in jail is appropriate. Who knows how many people lost their jobs because they were stuck on the freeway with a wall of assholes in front of them? How many people didn’t get to the hospital in time to see grandma before she died?

Anybody who doesn’t have an opinion on the road - blocking protestor’s pet cause before being blocked on the road is not going to be favorably inclined towards that cause.

If protesters walk out onto a freeway and block rush hour traffic, how exactly are we supposed to take a different road? Do a U-turn while climbing over the other cars like a monster truck?

So when protesters block the freeway you’re on you should just do a U-turn through all the other stopped cars and drive the wrong way down said freeway until you find another road? Suuuuuure.

Pneumonia is nothing to laugh at. I had it a couple of years ago and I’ve never been laid that low. If I even wanted to walk to the kitchen to refill my water glass I’d have to psych myself up for a half-hour first. A dozen steps felt like running a marathon.

Lots of people also thought it looked bad, detracted from the movie, and was completely unnecessary when another actor did 99% of the performance, then had a jarring digital zombie mask of Cushing pasted over his face.

There are also a lot of people who CAN tell when there is CG face replacement, and it seriously detracts from the movie for us.

As far as CGI technology goes, it wasn’t bad. But faces are possibly the most difficult thing to do with CGI, and this was not convincing to me. Your mom may not have detected it, but that doesn’t mean its undetectable.

But it wasn’t realistic. That’s the problem. They had a motion capture actor, but should have just had a new actor play the role. A real, living actor who had a face that looked like it belonged with his body, instead of a pasted-on digital zombie-face. I liked the movie overall, but the Tarkin scenes were

Yep, that would have helped make it less jarring. I still say recasting would have been a better route, though, and more respectful to Cushing.

If they had to do the CGI Tarkin (and I maintain that they didn’t — tasteful recasting would have been better), they should have stayed away from close shots. Maybe work the scenes so that we were seeing a hologram of Tarkin on the other end of a communication.

Tarkin could still been in the movie without ruining suspension of disbelief with a different actor. Most of Uncanny Valley Tarkin was a new actor anyway, with CGI-face.
