Currently split 50/50, Democrats represent 40 million more people than the Republicans and it’s projected that by 2050, Republicans could control the Senate while representing just 30% of the total population.

He is a rapist. He is now free to offend again. This is not just about punishment, this is about how women are not safe in our society. Women are constantly told how to behave to be safer, but men are not stopped from victimizing women.

You’re kinder than me. I want asshole rapists punished. Put ‘em in jail. If they’re scared that they might be raped, turnabout is fair play.

I’m pretty anti-prison, and I want real criminal justice reform, so the idea of an 18 year old being warehoused and incarcerated for four years is not an appealing one to me either.  

It takes the barest minimum of human decency to allow a queer person to live their life unharassed. It costs nothing to simply leave them alone. To not say something cruel or nasty and instead mind your own business.

Somehow, that’s still too much to ask for so many, not just in the gaming community, but on the planet…

And that’s not even counting the people who survive Covid but have to deal with long-term health problems, or the folks who end up with crushing medical debt after a visit to the ICU.

I haven’t gotten to the point yet where I’m getting death-stares in public, since I just started HRT in the middle of last year, but like, it took me YEARS to get to this point because of the sheer terror of merely existing in a world where a good portion of society would love to see me end up dead in the gutter.
