I would expect more sensitivity from a chew.
I would expect more sensitivity from a chew.
@Convict78: Marteen Cleaves is tumbling down draft boards as we speak.
@Bosoxfan3: Is that the same warning those Browns fans gave you guys so many years ago?
@johnrhoward: But there used to be Saturday games in December, after the end of college football season, which aired on regular TV. Now those games are no longer available to the vast majority of fans. So it IS taking away games which they would have been able to watch. Instead of 2 or 3 Saturday games which the…
@lukeoneil47: If only that were an option! We'd love to buy it! Take our money, for fuck sakes!
@When_you_get_the_money_you_get...: Because there are like 4 times as many assholes (myself included) who would gladly pay for it but currently aren't able to because of these stupid dispute?
@SponsoredbyV8: not to mention that accurate pitchers would be more able to take advantage of the increased area for "false positives"
Any nerd commenters want to explain this to the rest of us?
@ebjuegos: How silly of us playoff proponents to forget what this so called amateur sport is really about: Money. Sweet, sweet money.
@Chris Hanson's Axe: The AP is no longer part of the BCS formula. They withdrew specifically because they didn't want to "create the story" or some such thing.
@Clarence Rosario: Agree, if they had a playoff spot on the line they certainly would have had more to play for. I was working under the assumption that any mythical playoff hopes they had would have already been snuffed out at this point.
@Chris Hanson's Axe: What do the writers have to do with this? These matchups are selected by TV execs and Bowl committees, who have a vested interest in not giving those teams a shot because it might crap all over their chosen system.
@JohhnyDamage: I don't think they can do that. I think there's a rule limiting each conference to 2 BCS selections. And Penn State has 2 losses, not one.
@JohhnyDamage: I like the thought, but I think an Alabama hammering of Texas (or vice versa) would pretty much end all media discussion, given how Alabama cold-cocked Florida yesterday. What's needed is a close, ugly NCG.
@Clarence Rosario: I hate the BCS as much as anyone, but I think that argument only applies to situations where the teams actually have a chance at making a playoff/NCG. And the report is wrong: had they won they could have gotten a better bowl game.
the horse head left outside Skyline Chili HQ is having its expected result.
@BruschisBrewsky: I'd say the fact that they got a post up before noon is a good sign.
@Evil Joe: You mean besides his coach, owner, teammates and every Vikings fan in the known universe?
@What's the Story, Robert Horry?: I take it you're a purist who doesn't recognize the series reboot, "Wide Left", as a legitimate part of the canon?
@JohhnyDamage: So because UCLA was unwilling to take USC's offer to end the game, USC should crash some running back into the teeth of a hungry defense, risking fumbles and injuries? Even if they used up the Bruin timeouts they would still have to give the ball back to the Bruins just enough time for a slim hope for…
