Comics are also pretty niche unless you want to count movies.

I don't hate theater or musicals. But according to some sources I looked at Broadway had record revenues in 2014 to the tune of 1.36 billion. Similiar stats for movies last year are much, much higher.

I would not be suprised if this one ends up having a larger cultural reach through classrooms.

I've read two of the books on this list (The Steel Remains and Perdido Street Station). And I look forward to checking out Anders' book and the Sorceror of Wildeeps.

Rap is pretty good.

It counts about the same as any other niche cultural product.

I used to live in NYC, and I don't think I realized the extent that NYC based media properties are up their own ass until I read something on Slate calling or implying that Hamilton was the most significant cultural object of 2015.

I haven't listened to the podcast, but the arguments I've heard mostly center around the film's treatment of Jenny. Also, the way activists are presented.

The transition from disc 1 to 2 is the finest WTF moment in a JRPG during the PS One era. But not necessarily in a good way.
