Man it's a bummer that this game doesn't sound great (and it would have to sound amazing to risk spending hundreds of hours on it). I think there is just something about JRPGs where they reach their max appeal when you are in Middle School/High School. Nothing will ever top the feeling of being 13 and playing FFVII.

If you don't like MMORPGs, you should not play Xenoblade. I've heard that Trails of the Sky for the Vita is a pretty good JRPG if you're looking to scratch the I need a 100 hour JRPG itch.

My understanding is that Bethesda does a lot of research before each game. And to its credit, this game is much more rural—building an maintaining small farms is one of the main systems in the game. And It is suffused with all that colonial history—quaint colonial homes, the freedom trail etc.

To my mind, the thing that Bethesda does better than anything is design worlds. The commonwealth is very different from the Capital Wasteland and the wide open deserts of New Vegas (which wasn't developed by Bethesda). And many of the quests and locations play off the unique history of Boston in interesting ways.

The best part of codenames is how wonderfully short and fun it is.

She's a fun influence. She hates the underground and minutemen. She likes asking for money, doing drugs and nimble fingers.

I like Cait the best. But I cycle them to get their perks and retire them at the Red Rocket station.

It's all in the game.

I'll be playing Fallout 4. Is Plymouth in the game? Isn't that near Boston? Why is it that all the cool factions are dicks at best or unabashedly evil bastard at worst? How could anyone not totally morally compromised chose to help anyone other than the Railroad/Minutemen? But why does doing so leave you in charge

My favorite easter egg is when Lester gets complimented for his high murder clearance rate.

Dear Mr. President there are too many games coming out this fall. Please eliminate three. I am not a crackpot.

I think I'd be ok with it if they just changed the punctuation to a ?

I don't think Chris Avellone is overrated at all. New Reno in Fallout 2 may be the single best (and most responsive to player choice) location in CRPG history. And Planescape is still probably the best written CRPG.

Yeesh

If you build up settlements, they will generate passive income and materials. The more you do it the more you will get out of it. With even two shops, I generally get a significant amount of caps (you need at least 6 charisma to take the relevant perks). I suspect if you get far enough into it that it could

It's not as robust as it should be but that's still much more interaction than other games in the genre. With something like the Witcher, you get far less emergent gameplay.

It kind of reminds me of the inverse of one of the more bizarre Norman Mailer quotes: Where a character enters "the bridal ground of her symbolic and therefore real vagina."

Is this the first time the AV Club has had a episode review paragraph speculating about whether anal occurred?

Igni, Yrden and Quen are the best signs.

I find they are great for working out and to cleanse the palate.
