I wish more open world games would lean into the exploration in the main story. Why not just have the characters motivation be to destroy/save the Commonwealth inspired by death of your spouse?

The semi-urgent main quests had always been annoying in these games.

Apparently, it's pretty easy to get all the adhesive you want through the settlements. You can cook vegetable starch or something that breaks down into 5 adhesive. It uses corn and water and some other stuff. Extra resources get automatically stored in your workshop. So if you plant a ton of corn and build a lot of

I'm partial to Cait. The drug addled Irish woman with a heart that pumps whiskey and a fondness for sarcasm. She reminds me of Cassidy (?) From New Vegas.

I think I'm done with MMO combat for a while.

Exactly. It's instructive to compare Dragon Age and The Witcher because with the exception of companions those games are more or less trying to do the same thing. They both have limited crafting with recipes and runes. The both have quasi open world's separated in different zones. The both have most of the interaction

I always think Cloudkill is a fucked up spell. A baby mage could kill an entire village with that spell with a minimum of planning.

I'm the same way. A rough mission on X-Com inspires me to work harder.

Rothfuss's book is great, but it has some serious issues, especially in the second book. There is a hundred page section that is as laughably bad.

Weird. I listen to most of my fantasy books on audiobook. As much as I likeep the format, world building is definitely translates more poorly than with the written world. Here, I had no problems with the world building.

I just finished The Traitor Baru Cormorant by Seth Dickinson. If you had told me the book—written by a guy best known for developing the lore of the video game Destiny—would not only be my favorite book of the year so far, but also one of my favorite fantasy novels of the past decade, I would have said you're crazy.

When I think of the trash talk on XBL, it was less about telling people to shut-up and more a 13 year-olds screaming racial epithets like Uncle Ruckus in between bong hits and listening to Evanescence through a tinny mic.

Know your enemy.

This reminds me of one of the weirdest things I've ever read: a reddit thread with people bemoaning the good ole days of XBL trash talk. How the fuck could someone be nostalgic for that?

It's more meritocratic that way.

It's especially strange given that the qualities that make a good politician are at odds with the qualities that make a good person.

I feel bad that I only just read this today. It was a really good prompt.

For me, it's just that Baldur's Gate 2 is my favorite game of all time. I play it at least once a year. I was thinking about playing Metal Gear but the F2P stuff looks so heinous that it killed any interest I have in paying full price for it.

You laugh, but it makes me said that I'm far more fluent in memes than Abbott and Costello or Cheers. And I don't even know that much about memes.

Neat! I'm going to play it with my girlfriend. If I like it, I may try playing at my FLGS.
