I don’t think anyone outside of Univision’s accountants think these political rage bait articles are the best use of the A.V. Club’s writing talent, but I guess they keep the lights on for stuff like A History of Violence.

Yeah, it felt like an odd choice to lean into making Elizabeth seem powerless and sort of cruel, but I guess they wanted to set the dramatic table for this episode.

At least they gave the answer to the headline in the article that this time so that I didn’t have to watch.

Poochie antics aside, I’m glad that new competition is trying to muscle into cable. Keep on disrupting those dominant paradigms, dudemeister.

I also liked that he complained about being infantilized, and the solution involved dressing him in an oversized hat, colorful robes, and giving him a big wand to hold in the air. All undoubtably accurate, but I though it made him look like a big baby.

How is Mike’s statement about Elizabeth and Charles a deeply misogynistic assessment? It’s based on Elizabeth’s role as sovereign and Charles as her eventual replacement, not on her being a woman or mother. It made me think of how they’re always saying that Margret was the favorite child, implying that George had

Yeah, unless there is some other list or explanation, that part of the article is straight up wrong. That said, I’d like to know how Netflix knows that you watched either with or ahead of a significant other. Survey data? Data analysis of accounts with multiple profiles?

“Fifty-three percent of white women in the U.S. voted for Donald Trump in 2016 ...That statistic should be cited, and often...”

Pop culture site incredulous at success of pop star.

Blackdom may have been filled with vets, but they weren’t expecting a fight and prepared like La Belle. The people at the table mostly weren’t even armed. They got caught by surprise and still put up more of a fight than most of the people Frank has fought.

I 100% think Frank killed those smallpox victims, just like the Devlin Twins said he would.

It is a well shot, good looking show. The barroom execution being a notable example

I had that problem on my iPhone. Also started doing it randomly. It was some blocker/third party cookie issue that I had to change settings to correct. I don’t like Kinja, but their tech people responded quickly and did give an answer that worked.

I thought he had retired from the show itself, though. That makes him easier to fire.

Maybe he came down with a case of sudden-onset CancerAIDS.

“In other words, both of them confirmed that they hadn’t lied about anything they had said, indicating from everything but a legal standpoint that Heard stands by her allegations and that Depp doesn’t deny them.”

Frank Stallone?

That’s an interesting tidbit. If only there were some pop-culture website writing about this incident that could have provided me with such background info on the song, or maybe spin it into a longer piece looking at other past pop hits about 16 year olds, such as those discussed elsewhere in the comments. Alas.

Maybe Gurney Halleck. I picture him being older because Patrick Stewart played him, and Stewart is one of those guys that seems to get old looking early and then stop aging.

Thanks for the info! Not something I would have considered before, but it does seem to explain Franken’s release on Facebook but not Twitter.
