but its hard to catch up because its so time confusing.

Im not trying to be pendantic here but ppl shopping for a golf or kona ev are not going to be cross shopping a damn tesla. Totally different demographics.

I own a Cayman S, love it, costs a significant amount to keep on the road and nothing on it is cheap. I love the idea of an EV Porsche but I personally would buy a Tesla over any 1st Generation EV from any company.

I think people just find Tesla critics grabbing “facts” out of their ass annoying.  That’s about it.

Inferior performance lol. The Model S can’t do one lap on a track without going into limp mode.

I think this is the end of the road for Tesla.

the EV market will only grow. There is more than enough room in the world for both tesla and porsche to sell a lot of EVs. I mean i get what youre saying but its not like there is only X EVs allowed to be sold. Its not a zero sum game here.

Well, the Audi S5 for example can be bought loaded for around $60k. Everything about the fit and finish in that car feels better than the Model 3. And, believe me, I think the Model 3 is fantastic, I just wish it was even better.

Tesla changed the perception of an EV from a golf cart to a desirable object.

I drove a Model 3 and I was flabbergasted by how good it felt to drive. Where it felt short though is that beyond the power delivery and the really nice steering, the rest of the car did not feel like a $60k car. That’s where the Teslas fall short. In order to provide whiz bang features like autopilot, they increase

I get why Tesla did it (range anxiety was/is still considered a huge obstacle to sales) but the economic and ecological calculations on 300-mile BEVs aren’t great. The battery weight is a killer.

Bruh, I’m excited for the electric revolution. Don’t make assumptions about the way I think.

Add in the reports of the pitiful build quality of the 3 and the bumper covers falling off due to moisture. Im sorry, but thats regression, not advancement.

It’s like you choose to completely ignore economies of scale.

holy shit youre not smart. Whatever, carry on. Its all fine.

Here’s the thing—I have both a Model 3 and am F80 M3. In the right setting, the M3 is a riot. It’s super fun to wind it out, and I love shifting for myself.

it’s like bragging about an Apple Watch to mechanical watch enthusiasts, because you don’t like the ticking sound.

I think you can be a Jalopnik and like electric cars, but I’m not sure you can be a Jalopnik and not like engine sounds. Heck, it wasn’t long ago we were arguing about whether one can be a Jalopnik and not drive a stick.

Yeah, only so-cal in mind.

I know, it’s crazy, it’s almost like the author made some sort of comparison in the article to which people are responding.
