I mean what does a PR department actually DO besides provide canned non-answers to questions? What would they say to a report of a roof flying off other than “Tesla takes Safety and Quality seriously. We are looking in to this alleged incident”.

Jalopnik most certainly does not report on Tesla without bias. Im not a Tesla fan, but there is a clear distaste for Tesla here. Articles are either negative, or sarcastically congratulatory.  There is very rarely a neutral or positive article.

Let’s be honest, you’re not reaching out to every automaker that has a customer with wheel alignment issues, has fallen asleep at the wheel, or has defective panoramic roofs. Your reaching out to Tesla because a response from them would be clickworthy for you. Most of your email requests are of the un-slick tone...

This is absolutely true. There’s no way that auto manufacturers can take Jalopnik, as a automotive website, seriously anymore. The hot takes, personal bias, and political rants of some of the few who have stayed have dragged this website down.  If I was Tesla, I’d tell Jalopnik to go pound sand too.  Heck, Nissan gave

As a long-time reader of Jalopnik, well over 10 years, and a loyal fan to a fault, it pains me to say this but the fact of the matter is...Jalopnik is no longer viewed as a media entity worth responding to by Tesla or any other major manufacturer. It surprises me that so many articles here point out that “I’ve reached

Lol just like you have Elon in your mind? I just like reminding the readers just what type of a person you are. And 3 years ago isn’t exactly a long time. If you disagree with anything you wrote in that BS article, please write a new one.

What track record exactly are we talking about, the one where they come basically out of nowhere to in less than ten years become the only new established mass production car company to appear in decades with factories on three continents soon, or some other track record? I’m sorry, I don’t keep track of all the track

Then why didn’t you write an article about why your skeptical about the lithium from clay claim? You could’ve wrote about how other companies have tried this, why they failed, and what the technical challenges are that make it not feasible. You could’ve done that and wrote something interesting and informative, but

Someone had some extra “edge” for breakfast this morning I see . . .

No, no one needs a faster car, but as shown by *checks notes* oh yeah, every other ridiculous, unnecessary engineering achievement in history, the engineering required to achieve this will help out a lot of other things. For example, with an electric car, I’m not that kind of engineer, but I imagine having the

Ive never seen 2 lap or 5 lap records. Racing is a conservation strategy game. On lap records, it is quite different. Even an IC car will be set up to just make one lap... you get minimum fuel, the grippiest tires that can survive one lap, down force that robs fuel mileage, etc...  it's a different strategy all

I guess my 2009 Z06 didn’t get the memo that I had to build it myself.

They run 11s stock.

You’re an awful excuse of a “writer” with your “touch cars at the car show” article. What you call multitudes is bias. That’s it and that’s all. You get called out on your BS and you say “maybe I’m in a bad mood”. Wow.. Just wow.

This isn’t a “bad mood today” article, this is a “let’s shit on Tesla” article which is way too prevalent on this site. Why do you think Schnac posted about it? Because everyone can see the bias. It would be awesome to have a technical article presenting facts rather than your opinions everywhere.

To be honest, the part that interested me about the plaid model S was not the speed, but the supposed range of 520 miles. Obviously I cannot afford the price tag, but if the range is true (and I mean not just ideal circumstances true) then we are getting close to the tipping point for me to buy an electric car. I set

Too bad you didn’t see the $25k car in 3 years.

Or realize you could get a model 3 for $37k, which is only $6k more than the median price of a new car in the U.S.

Or you could buy a CPO Model 3 for less.

Or you could just continue to read Jalopnik, not do any independent research, and remain bitter.

In fairness, the Demon is dumb as hell and should never have been made.

You have exclusive reporting that the Tesla presentation was ‘outright lies’!?  WOW! That’d be big news! Do tell!

Lol. They literally linked the Lucid 9 second quarter-mile article in this one and the tone could not be any more night and day. I’m sorry but this is a bit much. Jalopnik is thrilled about performance until it isn’t? Until Tesla does it? I’m not trying to be an Elon apologist but... damn.

i placed my order.
