Sounds like you’ve met a lot of Tesla owners. I guess they’re a lying breed of car owners!!!

I hear you, and again don’t want to come off as one of those people who just shit on electric vehicles as a matter of principle. I do worry about the viability of the company itself, which introduces another set of issues. I’m not sure it ever makes much money and will need to issue even more debt to expand production…
Oh, I most certainly am not everybody :) but there’s a lot of people out there who do prefer to make stops in longer trips and still think an electric car won’t fit their needs because they keep being scared away by arguments like this.
Boom - my thoughts exactly. It seems pretty clear that we’ll see the S/X with the 2170 cells and revised interior (mode Model 3-ish) within the next year or so. With a potential range of 450+ miles, that gets pretty impressive.
If the majority of people drove like you did, most rest stops would be empty save for a guys wife running into empty bathrooms to use it and be back out in 5 mins.
range is heavily dependent on weather and speed
I dunno. Leaching into the soil? Dealing with it when it rusts through.
That right there in the last paragraph. That’s what I don’t get about people who whine about charging times in longer trips. I drive an ICE and if I’m doing a 200+ miles trip I will 100% certainly do at least one half hour stop. I need it for stretching, resting, getting some coffee, you know, stuff lots of people do…
Like ALL cars, that doesn’t need to be explicitly said.
Plus there are a bunch of things that they’re just starting to tap into, like adaptive aerodynamics.
Sure you can. Same exact car. Just not on the same charge.
On the other hand, think how awesome it would be if you had a gas pump at your house.
Part of the thing with a Tesla is that the range is long enough (even before this update) that you rarely use all of it. How much range do I “burn” in my car? Idk, it rarely falls below 100 miles before I supercharge or finish driving for the day.
That said, range is heavily dependent on weather and speed, more than…
Short sellers don’t necessarily believe Tesla to be a fraud.
Aaron, this is a shit article and you should feel bad. Looking at the history of your articles, you seem to really hate Tesla.
I mean, I understand the argument that Musk exaggerates the “Tesla short” influence on the stock, but this article is about a specific person: A person who has been caught trespassing and planting cameras on Tesla property before... more than once.
This article is one-sided trash.
The Electrek article goes into it a bit deeper without trying to name names. Basically, the person in question swerved at the car to try to disrupt the self-driving demo so they called the police on him. Turns out it was the same person who on previous occasion was found trespassing on Tesla property, hit a Tesla…
Why is this article (click bait hit piece really) leaving so much out of the story? This guy is a legitimate concern.
