Ugh, this. How in the world have truck beds gotten higher while ground clearance is the essentially the same?? We actually use our trucks as trucks and its exhausting getting craps into the beds of these new trucks. I end up using my little S10 on the ranch more than the full size ones for this reason.

I used to be this way, but now I allow ~30-45 minutes or so of screen time after school. It really lets the boys chill out. We still do something outside almost every day, but that (highly desirable) screen time has really improved their attitudes and focus on homework.

The fact that some people have it easier doesn’t change the logic and strategy for the rest of us. Some people win the lottery with a piece of paper, some by birth. We can all still save and make good progress.

Dumb question time: Could this be achieved with a beefed up starter motor? Not 175 hp of course, but assuming you could adapt a high-torque diesel start to fit in a car. Could you conceivably power it with a burst system like this? I know their would be stress on the outer edge of the flywheel, but it could really add

I dont follow the tuner market that closely, but aside from a few small (and very risky) suppliers, no one has been getting 175hp out of the 961s with turbos ‘n tunes. We are talking IC, exhaust, line upgrades, etc. On top of that, this doesn’t stress the internals at all.

I hear ya, but where are you going to get 200lb out of a Cayman without stripping the interior? The simple stuff like ultra light wheels, exhaust, and seats might get you, what 75 lbs? Where are you going to from there? Custom carbon fiber panels? Any improvement are going to cost more than the flywheel package.

Because it comes with those options stock, is lighter and has a different suspension? Look, I wouldn’t buy either of those cars. I never understood the logic of trying to make a pig dance, but the GTS just sits above the s65 on the performance scale and probably just below it on the luxury. As the consumer, only you

Horsepower is only one way to measure the lineup. For starters this is a lot lighter than an S63, and with AWD and carbon brakes the cost adds up quick. I mean a Turbo Cayenne has more horsepower and costs less than a 911 GTS too. It doesn’t make one a bad buy.

Wow, what an ignorant post. Most of Jeff’s net worth is in Amazon stock. He can’t access that money even if he wanted too! He has restrictions on how much he can sell. Also, you are forgetting the Bill and Warren didn’t start giving away much money until later in their careers or after retiring. Bezos is focused on

Regarding 1st Gear: One of the biggest challenges Ford (or all other International sellers in China) has is that the Chinese market does not care about the same factors as the rest of the world. Many Chinese buyers, particularly first-time and younger buyers, have very little interest in car safety or durability.

He isn’t a billionaire. Also, if he had stuck his inheritance in the stock market he would be worth more than he is today. Also, Clinton and GW shouldn’t have been presidents either.

Well, I think a lot depends on the price. If they can bring it in around $60 ($15k less than a Model X 75) then I think it will be a moderate seller. But if they think this is competitive with a X, they are crazy.

I very much hope that is the follow up story.

Right, but if you do that shit on the reg, then this isn’t the car for you. Pretty simple. I would suspect 99% of the houses that consider this car will have a second one already. Given that most soccer moms travel a whole lot less than 200 miles a day, this is actually a reasonable choice for them.

You are not really making any sense here. If the interior, ownership experience and comfort are “luxurious” but the range isn’t spectacular then how is that not “luxury without being the pinnacle of luxury”? Also, this whole “range anxiety” thing is a made up complaint from people that are not in the market. Every

Well, the real-world range of G63 Wagon is about ~250-275. And this is mid-range vehicle. The A & C class are not that luxurious either.

Are you implying the C7 doesn’t handle well? Have you driven one? Or even ready any reviews of them?

I never understood Wurstfest. $30 for a pitcher of Bud Light and the Chicken Dance on loop for three hours. Its literally the worst festival I have ever been to.

This is for sleeping with your intern. Nothing else.

Can someone explain the usage here? Most school walls are made of cinder block, so you are not just going to nail something into that. I guess you could try to hammer a wedge into the door jamb, but given that classroom doors open “out”, that usually doesn’t work.
