Ya, the smell thing can be VERY misleading. A flood damaged car and one that has been a kid-hauler smell a lot alike. Same for high-humidity regions. Old cars from Houston all smell like they have been flooded.

I gotta agree here. Of the three alternatives you listed the VR-4 is the most expensive to maintain (by FAR), the slowest and least attractive. I don't see this one going up in price much, surely not enough to justify the TCO. I don't think it is an accident that VR4 and VR$ are the same button.
The problem with this thinking is that it reduces the number of companies that can compete. Hegemony means that the surviving players can become increasingly powerful and will, over the long run, cause reduced innovation and safety.
Highly unlikely they will get the exemption. Lotus was not given an exemption for airbags and hence, no more Elise in the states. This upcoming regulation will end the Evora as well, I believe.
Cayennes are actually pretty solid off-road. And given that neither the G63 or a Cayenne is likely to like to go any more hard-core than a dirt trail, the are definitely comparable. The G63 is a tarted up work-truck. It handles like garbage on road and has a military interior with leather glued on it inside. The…
Whoa!! The scratches in the right rear suggest this might actually be my old car! Those are not the speakers I had, but otherwise, it is either my car or its twin. I wonder if it was registered in Texas about 8 years ago? If it is my car, I want it back. I made a terrible mistake selling it [before the bubble].
I did not know the wagon version existed. And, to be fair, even a regular Pacer is WAY less lame than a G63. The wagon just kicks it up a notch.
The XK really is a fantastic GT car. I don't think enough enthusiasts have given it a chance. Given the TCO, I would pick an XK-R over an SL or 6 series, especially given today' used car prices. While wonderful, the F-type is really a different focus so I don't know why you would compare them.
"that the seatbelt or airbag sensor wasn't tied into the Active Lane Control. "
Need is a relative term. No one is going to die of starvation, of course, but 3 hours really depends on when your flight departs. If it takes off at noon and you have spent the last 2 hours getting to the airport/security you are going to be damn hungry by the time the plane lands at 3pm. Also, this isn't going to…
Dear automotive manufacturers, please give us back our buttons and give me a dock for my phone. Google Now has all of the voice activation working. But I still want a slider for A/C and knob for volume. Also, Sync can choke on a [edit] and die, please.
What is it like driving the most singularly embarrassing vehicle on the road today? I would rather drive an AMC pacer with a "Pederast" bumper sticker.
That article confirms exactly what I said? The system cannot pay for the current benefits level for people retiring more than 20 years from now. The fact remains that we will need either a massive tax increase (possible), massive military spending decrease (unlikely), or an increase in the retirement age (unlikely) in…
Exactly. Anyone under 45 planning on getting social security as part of their retirement (at least at today's levels) is living in a fantasy world.
What I can only assume is the richest mechanic on earth. One of those mega-yachts in the harbor is probably his.
You are right, there is a Lamborghini service center. I was searching in English. But I found it, located at 11, Route de la Turbie. But your people will still have to deal with the Veyron.
The other thing people forget is the logistics of owning something like that. There are no Bugatti or Lamborghini service centers in Monaco as far as I can tell. That means not only do you need to be able to afford the car, but you need to have enough "people" to make sure your car can get flat-bedded out for service…
There is "rich" and then there is "I dont care if I get door-dings on my Veyron" rich. Monaco, like Hong Kong and a few other cities always remind me that even if I was rich, I still wouldn't be able to afford a place like that.
I predict 8 of these will be sold with the manual and the magnetic suspension. Its just like the CTS-V wagon, only way less attractive.
This is still silly. Why bother? Everyone can just put it into a couple power-bricks. No need to re-combine anything. Oh, they are going to check power bricks now? No problem, you can mold explosives into the handle of suitcase. Oh, checking handles? We will just put it in the wheels.
