I cannot agree that the original was perfect, or even close to perfect. Nonetheless, the show is impossible to recreate.

I knew the remake would be crap. The Prisoner is very much a product of its time and McGoohans philosophy/creative vision. Any remake is probably going to be garbage, there’s really no way to avoid it.

It’s supposed to be surreal and ambiguous, right? That means he’ll get Damon Lindelof to write it. And that’s wrong — I think Lindelof uses vagueness and mysticism to disguise the fact that he’s not particularly good at his job.
