I have worked in porn. I know all these people and all the companies. The good places to work are the minority but are well known.

This was my initial view of the porn industry until basically PR campaigns and Internet intellectuals convinced me that it was just a job people do. Then it turned out that independent sex positive feminist Sasha Grey was actually physically and emotionally abused by her bf/promoter and forced to do a bunch of things…
I’m in the same boat. I found James and his schtick VERY hot. There was an unreasonably long time where I only watched scenes featuring him, because he flipped my switches to a serious extent.
Physically no longer able to shoot. Three weeks in the hospital. But these sites are filled with #NotAllPorn people. They’ll come stomping their feet in droves because these are rare cases, you see. Very rare.
I can’t find it now, but I swear we’ve seen another article either here or on Gawker within the last year that heavily implied Kink studios was NOT concerned about the welfare and consent of its female employees — and it didn’t even broach the subject of James Deen.
HOLY SHIT put her in the hospital. Jesus it just gets worse and worse. Edit to add: not that I’m judging what he’s done on a sliding scale or anything; it’s all awful. It just boggles my mind that it was that bad and no one stepped in to stop it.
The justifications for keeping the material on the site.
Why do you have to be so sex-negative? Why kink-shame people this way?
I don’t mean to diminish your sense of loss (and perhaps betrayal?) but Gawker Media (and Jezebel) have had a track record of pretty gross, cynical behaviour (the rape gifs, that Jez article where they posted screenshots of a rape in progress, the Conde Nast thing, the Lena Dunham thing, things going back years) that…
I still need to talk about this: the current changes in Gawker Media, the firings and the closing of sub-blogs like Millihelen, The Vane and Kitchenette are still on my mind. Also, that post on the treatment of women by GM really left a bitter taste in my mouth. I really like this place, have liked it since its…
A bean, rice and cheese burrito is nectar of the gods.
Clover Hope did not enjoy one of my comments. Thank you for pulling me out of the grey John!
You should have to renew your marriage like you renew your driver’s license, but more often. Every two years the first decade, then every five years. Both parties have to actively sign a piece of paper or an internet form, otherwise the marriage is dissolved
Honestly, I don’t really see how having a trial marriage is that different from living together for a year or two before marriage. Except perhaps combining your finances, living together will give you the same day-to-day experience as being married. And hopefully you’ll have thoroughly discussed finances and any other…
Or maybe he felt that it was insulting to share an award with a vapid reality tv star who has literally never done anything for anyone else.
It can both be true that Caitlyn Jenner is not deserving of the Woman of the Year, and that this guy is an asshole for calling her a man.
Just someone who doesn’t know who Nancy was (Sid either, probably). No judgement here, just age.
Damn. I totally was in to this show. Traditional tv needs to fucking revamp their whole situation. I don’t pay for cable tv, so if it’s not on Netflix, I have to pirate.
