I forgot to mention that the reason to use the same make and model is it makes it easier to swap out the drive...you can use the same power supply.

Two external drives, same make and model. Clearly label them as "0" and "1" (or whatever). Swap them out each day ("0" on even-numbered days, "1" on odd-numbered) and take the inactive drive with you to the office. That way you've got the backup speed of a hard drive along with a full offsite backup.

Along with always carrying wallet, keys, and cell phone in the same pockets I carry a 4GB IronKey flash drive (built-in encryption, indestructible) as well. (And a 160GB iPod w/earbuds permanently attached to my hip!)

Your first sentence in this post totally confused me until I figured out what you were trying to say...it should start with "Just as" rather than "Just how."

@jdueck: You're slamming the company for an effective viral marketing campaign? I say good for them, regardless of the product.

It's feasible that there really are 32 AAs in there...wiring groups of 8 in parallel and then connecting them in series gives you 4 times the voltage (6V) and 8 times the amp/hours of an individual cell. They won't be alkalines, however, and the capacity (amp/hours) you're going to be able to pull from each individual

@digitaljhelms: Yep, the image shows (errors in bold):

His suggestion was: -8, -5, -2, -4, -5, -6, -4, -2, 0, -3

@ghostwind: What kinds of claims? Did you read the article? It clearly says that results haven't been proven.

@bradski: You should actually eat your family pet if money gets really tight.

The frozen chicken breasts taste better because they soak them in brine before freezing.

No generic brands from Ralphs. Maybe it's just me but having food labeled with a synonym for "vomits" just isn't worth the savings. Unless you're trying to lose weight.

Wow that's complicated. Why not just use Windows' built-in Disk Management tool? See the steps here:

Looks like the equivalent of a forty-year-old trying to look like a 20-year-old and ending up looking like a fool. The curves and maturity of the previous models were what attracted me to the Accord in the past. This is a major step backwards.

Stupidest. Term. Ever.

If you look up "gullible" in an online dictionary it points to this video.

Oh, and the easiest way to make someone appear thinner? Photoshop. Even a little horizontal scaling goes a long way and can be subtle enough not to be obvious.

Actually, bokeh (from the Japanese word for "blur") refers specifically to the quality and type of blurring in those areas in a photograph that are out of focus. While bokeh can help to create separation between the subject and the background, it doesn't refer to the separation itself.

See now, that's my problem; I look at a blank notebook as the start of a journey. How I fill it...now that's the journey!

Hopefully the .mac servers are overtaxed as people try this stuff out...the initial page took 30 seconds to come up over a T1 for me. And even though the interface has some rough edges I'd still use it to share stuff with family and friends. It may not replace Flickr but it's still cool for what it does. I look
