I second BackupBuddy and BackupBuddyVFS...both have saved my butt on more than one occasion.

I've used an application called MoveMe in the past to migrate between computers. It has a distinct advantage over FAST in that it lets you migrate applications in addition to files and settings. You can migrate over a network, via a USB connection, or using removable media (including an external hard drive). $30 for a

TomTom Navigator (version 6 is about to ship) is a deal for $150 considering it gives you the same functionality as a $500 standalone GPSr. Plus, once you have a Bluetooth GPS you can add GeoNiche for full Geocaching support!

It came up with nothing for my local zip code (also north of San Diego) and nothing for "San Diego, CA." Looks like it has some growing to do and also looks like it's dependent on member submitting information rather than gathering it automatically.

I still prefer sticking my fingers in my ears and humming really loud. Plus it sends a message.

Geocache if it's something she doesn't want. Otherwise it's "toy in, toy out" like stuboo outlined.

Local spinach. Plus, if you do get sick it's good for rapid weight loss.

For Mac user, Snapz Pro X from Ambrosia software is an excellent, established, and relatively inexpensive ($69) product that I would definitely recommend:

If you have multiple networked Macs, spend $23.32 to get the commercial version of iSquint, MediaHub. It uses OS X's built-in distributed computing engine (XGrid) to speed up conversions. (It also includes a few other features that iSquint lacks.)

Bummer...the site isn't allowing new signups.

They collect enough details that they should be able to do a better job of predicting salary than other sites you've mentioned here, but the result I got in the end was still significantly less than what I'm currently making. YMMV.

The sample image shown above is HDR, the ones in eaddict's link are tonemapped. If you want to try tonemapping check out Photomatix:

Extra monitor space definitely boosts productivity, although I'm not sure a 30" monitor is better than a dual monitor setup. Still, if anyone has an extra Apple 30" they want to send me I'd be more than happy to do my own testing!

Great concept but your personal approach of taking a month to adopt each new practice is much more likely to lead to success than taking only a week as you mentioned in your initial explanation of Kaizen. (As I'm sure most readers know, research shows that it takes a minimum of three weeks to form a new habit.)

Another opportunity to plug the ultimate site on packing light:

Unless your iTunes collection can fit on a Shuffle, manual tagging isn't very practical. Any automatic tagging apps out there that can be used in conjunction with iTunes' Smart Playlists?

There's nothing cooler than creating a font from your handwriting! (I did mine over a decade ago.)

I had ordered a copy of the Beta 2 DVD and got an RC2 DVD in the mail on Friday without asking for it. Nice to see MS doing something right in conjunction with Vista.

Bottom line based on the comments so far...whatever works best for you.
