Makes me want to get an abortion, even though I am not pregnant. C’mon mate, don’t tease us.

Destroying the kyriarchy.

I’m not sure what definition of “dissolves” you’re working from, but like most hydrocarbons, petrolatum/paraffin is dissolved in more viscous oils like tee tree oil and eucalyptus oil (the latter is more effective than the former), which are both safe to use on skin for most people without allergies to those things,

I said nothing about the law.

an acceptable way of voicing dissent

Well, if you have a lipodema it can be helpful and dissolve it, but lipodemas are not regular healthy subcutaneous fat deposits, but are isolated cystic growths (which is why they can be excised to cleanly by a doctor if they need to be) so the chemicals have less chance of infecting otherwise healthy tissue.

It can also dissolves things like kidney and bile duct stones in the gut. Because you really want to be injecting that kind of stuff into healthy tissue.

Aaaaand just when I think the plastic surgery industry can’t get anymore fucked up. Can’t wait to see the court cases when people’s fat phobia ends up giving them horrendous infections at the injection site resulting in loss of flesh and scarring. Gonna make for some great Google image search results.

Well, if you mean you are putting petrolatum or paraffin (not petroleum, obviously) on you lips and it can dry them out, that’s because it’s a barrier substance, not a moisturiser. It does that unless you combine it with a moisturising agent, which most hand creams that use it do. It’s a preventative, not a treatment.

The EWG are borderline food-babes so I smell woo-reactionary-bullshit.

Most makeup that brands itself as “natural” just calls some of the chemicals it uses more “natural” names, charges more, uses different colours on their packaging, and heavier perfumes. The Body Shop is a classic example of this. Not saying don’t buy products you don’t feel comfortable with, but just use common sense

How... does that work? Sorry I am just wondering because we live in a world everything - including electronics which I am assuming you are using to make this post, it made from petroleum. Do you only wear hemp clothes? How do you avoid plastics everywhere?

If you want to get rid of it, you can dissolve it with other oil substances, like tea tree oil.

That’s what it’s supposed to do. It’s a barrier substance, not an actual moisturiser. Some moisturisers (Nivea comes to mind) use it in their super-dry formulations in combination with other products, but it’s still in there as a barrier substance to stop the skin drying as fast.

skincare professional

In terms of simple barrier treatment for skin conditions, it really is the shit. We used to go through buckets of this stuff in the hospital. I’d swear some of the nurses must have been eating it, or taking it home for their kids.

And white. Nobody calls beautiful chola girls androgynous, only white ladies like Gwent Stefani when they misappropriate it.

Sadly the technical definition is frequently ignored when it’s non-dfab people dressing in feminine clothes.

And thin.

No, that is exactly the case. Women wearing “mens clothes” is valorised in society as “androgynous” but the opposite is well, the opposite.
