I used a different pattern that is basically knit as one piece. I wouldn’t trust it to hold a lot of weight but it’s great if you need to buy too many bagels.

I am fully aware of my laziness, desire for variety and lack of great planning skills. I just pay for a meal planning service (I use The Fresh 20, but there’s one from CookSmarts too that I know of) - it takes all the guess work out of what’s for dinner this week (and lunch, I make enough so I have leftovers) and it’s…
My trick to drinking more water is to just constantly carry a water bottle with me - usually open and in a prominent place on my desk during the day, so I see it and am able to be more conscious that I need to be drinking more water.
“Jingle Bells” barked by dogs. It’s what sent me over the edge into Scroogetown this week.
Food: Want to try some weird ice cream flavors? Little Baby’s (locations in Fishtown and West Philly) has you covered. Buttered Popcorn, Pizza, or more normal flavors like Chocolate Salt Malt and Earl Grey Siracha. Flavors change daily-ish, so you may want to call ahead to see what they have today. They have a regular…
As a daily bike commuter, I have to say that I love biking in Philly. It’s a fast and easy way to get around, there’s a decent network of bike lanes in the middle of the city and Philadelphia (except for West Philly) is FLAT. So your only constraint is usually how far you want to go.
I made one of these posts around this time last year - calling out a serial assaulter. The post itself was vague but he was named in the comments. It brought a huge shift in our community, with way more open communication and lots of women coming forward. His long time best friend disowned him over the whole thing,…
I cleaned my oven a couple of years ago (too many roommates forgetting whole sweet potatoes in there really got to me), only to find the inside of my oven was a delightful vintage blue! I used a commercial cleaner so it was definitely a slightly scary/smelly job, but it makes me actually want to cook things in there…
I’m pretty sure it’s only Philadelphia that has that soda/sweetened beverage tax, not all of PA.
I’m lazy as all get out so there’s no special magical lunch prep for me. When I’m done eating dinner, I portion all my leftovers into glass containers with snap-on lids (I use the square/rectangular Snapware because it’s easy to find and stack). The little rectangle size is the perfect lunch portion for me, and I…
Buy your drinks in aluminum if at all possible. It’s the most eco-friendly packaging (glass is heavy and requires more fuel to transport and plastic is the worst). I’ve been doing my best to do this for a couple of years, and it’s helped moderate my soda intake as well.
My American childhood involved the cutest egg cup - with shorts and little legs.
Yep, just the sheer amount of different dairy products she mentioned (dairy, butter, cheese, milk), while also saying “lactose intolerant”, but still being OK with goat & feta cheeses... that’s some disordered eating.
Blue Velvet is the clearest plot line and time line of probably all of Lynch’s written movies, and it’s the beginner one I recommend to people.
I actually haven’t liked breakfast most of my life. I didn’t grow up eating eggs and am still of the belief that they are mostly creepy sulfur bombs, so breakfast sandwiches and platters are foreign to me.
Ugh, this happened to me. I went to a bachelorette party for a not-that-close friend. Surprise! The end of the party was their friend’s very first sex toy party. Terrible. I wanted to die. So much flavored lube and shitty dildos.
Put malted milk in everything!! I love it in my waffles, it adds an amazing depth of flavor.
