Yeah, it definitely seems weird. These changes don’t really enhance anything or give enough of a difference to make any sort of meaningful play on the multiverse concept. They’re just sorta mildly different, and not big enough to be excited to go back and try to catch a different one.
That all sounds a lot more like some theaters were shipped an incomplete version of the film, and now that people have noticed they’re trying to spin it as something deliberate.
