Huh. I wondered what that door was for. Strange that they don't ever open it if all it is is a shortcut.

A cool feature would be if you were able to make a world map and put levels on the world map, with different exits leading to different paths, just like a proper Mario game.

It's not actually a free-to-play iOS game; it just feels like one.

AC4 has the most infuriating gimmick for making money, though, with the free-to-play iOS game of trade routes. I'd much rather buy some stuffy art and just have it automatically generate me money.

I think I spent more or less all my money on buying up shops, art, other gewgaws since that's the best way to make money. Then eventually I just splurged and bought all the equipment in the game. So for a while I lived like a pauper, but eventually became rich as hell.

I got a more Greek/Roman myth vibe from the first Dark Souls.

The Threaded Cane has abysmal damage output, at least early on. The Saw Spear is pretty nice, and I would definitely consider it a viable choice (especially since the spear mode is way more useful than the cleaver's alternate mode), but the Saw Cleaver just has better overall damage output. I'd say the Hunter's Axe is

Pro tip: The Saw Cleaver is probably the best weapon in the game, or at least the best weapon you're going to see for a while. It also has inherent bonus damage vs beasts, which is a big plus. Just don't bother with the transformed version (except when using transform attacks). Also, the Cleric Beast is kind of rough

I finished up Witcher 2 the other day. (story spoilers) I ended up siding with the Scioa'tel (sp?) at the end of act 1, and then later on promised Vernon Roche I'd keep my end of our original arrangement (killing Letho). Then at the end I decided to let Letho go, because I felt like Geralt had no reason to kill him.

I think I need to start keeping an official backlog (and list of games I want to replay). I haven't really played FTL much since the advanced edition came out, so I feel like I need to go back and revisit it. I'm starting to just buy arbitrary games in steam sales and forget that I bought them.

Steam gave me Rocket League for free yesterday (along with another copy of Portal 2) because I had pre-ordered a Steam Controller a while back. It took me a little while to realize exactly why I suddenly had these games. I'll probably check it out tonight/this weekend to see what all the fuss is about.

I've set aside an appropriate amount of neo-shekels for just this occasion.

I think they meant the made up Japanese names in the actual trailer itself, like "Hironobu Del Toro."

I got the platinum trophy in Bloodborne a few days ago, after crawling through all the damn chalice dungeons and running through another NG+ cycle. (This game is pretty damn short if you just run directly from boss to boss and take no optional paths.) I've started running some of the root (read: random) chalice

I didn't know that Garrus was an optional character in ME1. I thought all the characters were mandatory.

That might be cool. Las Venturas always felt unfinished in San Andreas, so it ended up being kind of the most boring area. It's also where the story sort of grinds to the halt to pay lip service to the previous two PS2 games. Then the game kicks back into gear with your glorious return to Los Santos.

GTAV was way better about this and made it clear that you're supposed to be chasing your target, not trying to kill them.

One of my favorite little things about GTAIV was that they recorded alternate dialogue for the driving trips that played after you failed the mission once.

I usually eschew the fries unless I'm with other people, and then we'll get a small maybe.

That's probably what they were going for, but putting a tracker on his car sort of implies that they didn't have eyes on him right away. Otherwise, they wouldn't even bother with the tracker and just park in an inconspicuous spot down the block because they would expect a police-trained fugitive with a reason to be
