I agree wholeheartedly on feeling like you're reserving judgment until the show gets where it's going. But as it turned out, the characters backstories didn't really matter much in the grand scheme of things, and only seemed to just frame the gritty crime drama with gritty personal problems.

Yeah I definitely see value in setting up a kit like FEMA suggests: food for 3 days, a gallon of water per person for 3 days, flashlights, batteries, radio, etc.

That's why the new hotness is buying seeds. As an aside, why does most apocalypse prep seem to coincide with more primal wish fulfillment? Like, I want to be able to murder people with impunity, or I want to go back to a simple agrarian lifestyle, or I want to be the leader of a tight-knit community. I feel like a lot

In that sort of scenario the vast majority of your decisions are made with short term gains in mind. So trading for supplies you need or will need in the near future makes a hell of a lot more sense than trading something for money, which you need to hope you're 1) alive to use and 2) can find someone who'll accept it.

I just got a PS4 this past weekend and am playing Bloodborne. The number of times I accidentally hit the Home button when I push the right analog stick to the right while in dangerous scenarios is probably equal to the number of times my character does an unsolicited emote because I nudged my controller while pressing

Yeah but that isn't as simple as pressing or holding a button. You press and hold circle to run, then release circle and tap circle again to jump. That's one of my favorite little changes in DS2, where you jump by clicking in L3 while running.

I'd be interested to hear of a book that can keep me interested despite not having an engaging story or tone.

I will never understand people who play games and don't try out every button to see what it does. Especially if you're moving at a glacial pace in the game, why the hell not spam buttons that you previously expected to do nothing?

Ultimately, it was Ray's stubbornness and refusal to change that did him in. If he got a more advanced and fuel efficient vehicle instead of another stupid Charger, he could have gotten out of that scenario unscathed.

I'm smack dab in the middle of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings: Enhanced Edition, which I've decided to play before The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, mostly to get a sense of the story and the mechanics. (I skipped the first Witcher because by most accounts it's a Bad Game and has completely different mechanics to the

That reminds me of The Lost World game on PS1. You'd play as a variety of things, a Compy, Raptor, T-Rex, and Human (I think there was a 5th thing, but I forget what it was). The game was overall not very good, but since they all played vastly differently, it was pretty cool to my younger self.

The problem with that argument is that this show doesn't present itself as a police procedural. It treats itself more seriously than that, and that leaves it open to a lot of criticism, some of which is warranted. I will argue that saying the show went for the 'reset' button is not really that wise. It's not like all

The Yellow King was Purgatory all along!

I feel like Nic Pizzalatte saw fan complaints about season 1 (playing up the occult angle with no payoff, playing up the conspiracy with little payoff, giving the mains some seriously odd characterizations that never really played into the storyline in a meaningful way) and just decided to eschew all the stuff that

I thought I was done. I thought that ten Final Fantasy V Four Job Fiestas was enough. I was wrong. Just finished up Fiesta #11 last night and will probably start another one unless I can get back on the wagon. What is wrong with me? I'd just destroy the game, but I'd be wandering the streets, getting into fights,

One of my favorite strats was using a character as a lightning rod for area-of-effect attacks by constantly keeping the boss taunted, and just keeping clear of all the other characters so none of the attacks actually hit my other two guys. That, and swapping in one of my low-level teammates to pop out a quick revive

That would make Drive even closer to Hotline Miami than it was previously.

http://fourjobfiesta.com/. There's different types of runs. Normal runs won't give you any job you don't currently have access to. You essentially unlock one job per crystal.

You can still sign up. I think it's running until September.

Well once you're past the pyramid you can just go to the final dungeon, which is usually what I end up doing. It's fun figuring out ways to handle the final dungeon bosses, and also Neo Exdeath himself. The final dungeon does a good job of letting your abilities come out and shine, since you'll find at least one boss
