I definitely go for female characters too, now. I got sick of the pattern of "make your own character" games, because they often have good and evil systems too. So I'd end up with a paragon male Shepherd, and a renegade female Shepherd. Playing a female character first at least lets me play the game the way I'd want

When character creators were relatively new in games, I could spend a good hour or so. Nowadays, I try hitting the "random" feature until I find a character that doesn't look like a Chernobyl survivor. Maybe I'll customize the hair after that, but I'd say, for me, a good 10-15 minutes gets put into most games nowadays.

Strength is particularly good for DS2 because practically everything is weak to crushing attacks (and a ton of enemies are resistant to slashing/piercing). There are only a handful of enemies that are resistant to crushing, and most of them are fairly easy to begin with (Covetous Demon, I'm looking at you).

Of course bugs existed, but 1) nowadays developers have a bigger tolerance for leaving bugs in products because of the update functionality, and 2) the original commenter seemed to imply it was our instant gratification culture that's mostly at fault for thinking it's annoying to suffer through several dialogs before

Oh totally, also if you have an external drive you can easily back up those "you think you might want to play again but really have no interest in right now but maybe down the line you might and you don't want to go through the hassle of re-downloading and installing them again so I don't know, 10 GB of free space

Honestly, I have no problems with most PC-related updates. Windows installs updates in the background, and applies them when you turn your PC off at night (assuming you turn it off at night, which is a good idea regardless). Steam installs updates on launch, and the downloads are only ~50 MB, so on a decent connection

I'm playing through Shadowrun Returns right now, and I'd say it's pretty good and might scratch the RPG itch. There's two different official campaigns available (the 2nd is an expansion), and the 2nd campaign, at least so far, is quite a bit better than the first.

If you want a fun and fairly straightforward experience, play a Strength-focused character and use crushing weapons (maces, clubs). There's a Large Club that does a ton of damage and has a great moveset fairly early on that I like to use as my main weapon (only problem is it breaks so easily). Faith is also a good

After seeing videos of the Wonderful 101 (I see what you did there?), I really do want to pick up a Wii U now.

Apple is AWFUL about updates. If there's an iTunes update available, you'll know about it, but only when you're in the middle of a particularly difficult boss in Dark Souls II, when it pops up the "Hey buddy, how 'bout you update these things?" window right on top of your dude. Then again, maybe FromSoft is bringing

Did you play Megaman 2 on Normal (read: Easy) or Difficult? The original Japanese release only had one mode, which was what Difficult is in the states. Either way, it still remains one of my favorite NES games.

Except go back a couple console generations and you never had to deal with updates at all, so it's not like it's a thing that's existed for ages and it's simply the fault of Those Darn Millenials.

Weren't Super Street Fighter IV, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition 2012, and Ultra Street Fighter IV all released as DLC to the base game (Street Fighter IV) as well?

4 was good and introduced a bunch of great characters, but it also was the first major sign of the show caring more about getting characters from point A to point B rather than building emotionally satisfying arcs, which is why I don't like it nearly as much as most of the other seasons.

How many Robert Ombs and Bullet Williams must die for this senseless conflict to end?

I'm still waiting for a proper 3DS remake of Four Swords Adventures. That silly version they gave out for free was practically a slap in the face in that regard.

After the previous King of the Mushroom Kingdom refused to trade with the USA, we backed Peach in her rebellion, supplying her with Koopa Shells, Fire Flowers, and Super Mushrooms, with the hope that installing her into power would allow for the cheap export of Power Stars.

Super Smash Bros. Melee seems to imply that Peach is smarter than she appears. When she wins, she says "Oh…did I win?" in a mock-surprised tone, which led me to believe that she's putting on the "airheaded princess" act specifically so others underestimate her. She's playing the part the world expects her to, but I'm
