Thank god for this. I guess I'll start downloading my copy of Warcraft IV tonight.

There weren't really many games at the time that left you with a tinge of doubt that what you were doing was possibly not that heroic. I think that's the core subtext that makes the atmosphere work in LA.

I didn't really like the ending of that game. I think what it boils down to is whether the character actively makes a decision to do a Bad Thing or if they're forced to do it by circumstances or another character.

Spirit Tracks was just a much more on-rails (ha ha) experience than Phantom Hourglass.

Speaking of RPGs, I'm also playing the deconstructionist Half Minute Hero: The Second Coming. Any other Gamelogicians playing this? I really enjoyed the first one, and this one is definitely a worthy sequel (though not without some design nitpicks).

I believe my Demon Huntress "Contessa" is the only female hero I have at a reasonable level. My Monk "Dravin" and Wizard "Magnus" are male. My Crusader "Ignis" is actually female, but I'm having a hard time wanting to play another melee character, especially one that does so little damage.

Yup, Diablo 3 has its hooks into me again. I'm playing to get my paragon level up and desperately trying to find new and better gear for my Demon Huntress. Although it seems like Demon Hunters are basically second rate Wizards at this point, maybe I should switch gears and level my Wizard for a change.

Dang that sounds heavy. I haven't played much of Advanced Edition, and don't think I've encountered any of the new events yet. I figure it is a risk versus reward thing, honestly.

FFXII would like to have a word with you. Also, if there were any game that didn't need a sequel it was that one. And we got some weird faux-strategy game for the DS.

If you're looking to avoid PvP stuff, try burning a human effigy at a bonfire. That gives you basically one hour of multiplayer-free time (including preventing you from summoning other players).

Did you know Go-gurt is JUST YOGURT?!

I think Deadly Shadows would have been the best one if the levels hadn't been chopped into little bits so exploration was simple and you wouldn't have half-minute breaks in the action every couple minutes of play.

I don't get why they even act like being nitpicky is even a bad thing. Tiny design oversights can combine into a massive quagmire of bad design and ruin a potentially great game. I'd wager that every player has encountered the "repetitive dialogue" quirk and the "what the heck can I interact with?" quirk of a ton of

Well at least don't have any problems drawing the bill.

Stat growth isn't even an issue with MECs. They get huge amounts of health and will just for being a MEC and their best attack (the punch) cannot miss. They're incredibly mobile (especially with the jet boot module) and serve best as scout, tank, and melee enforcer.

Nah, summoning is definitely an option.

There's actually 3 different places for each of the 3 entrances. And you have to do them all to challenge the boss.

Try ally and then Try backstabbing

One of my favorite meta things about Super Paper Mario was learning that there were people on the internet complaining about having to jump for several days straight to grind out 1 million rubies in the 2nd world.

I think the fishing village mission is way too hard for how early in the game it can appear. I had base equipment with pretty much everyone. I also had extra difficulty as my only assault and MEC were both recovering back at base.
