I know you’re probably being flippant here, but Rivals of Aether is a pretty solid Smash-like that’s on PC. I’m not sure what the competitive scene looks like, but it’s designed in a way that actually works with comp play where Smash is really obtuse.
All this just makes me sad. Most of the Pokemon stuff I interact with is fan work and ROM hacks and whatnot, but it sucks that all the official merch is getting scalped to hell and back right now. It’s gotta be a terrible time to be a new fan or a kid who’s just now getting into Pokemon.
Could we stop giving this manchild attention and free press every time he throws a tantrum? It’s just giving him the attention he’s seeking, like a playground bully. I’m not going after Kotaku specifically, this is a problem with all the tech/geek press sites out there.
They didn’t really go out of business, they got merged into Gamestop shortly after the buyout.
I don’t have either, actually. Hell, I subscribe to PC Game Pass.
Disappointing, but not surprising. Server issues are par for the course, unfortunately. The one heist I was able to do before the servers went down was pretty good though, so I’m definitely booting it back up once the servers come back online.
This is gonna be disastrous for the entire games industry. There is no way one of the biggest companies buying out another of the biggest companies will be a net positive, it’s going to quickly turn anti-competitive and anti-consumer. But because Microsoft knows exactly what to say and what small concessions to make,…
Dang, guess I’ve gotta speed through Beacon Pines one of these weekends. I don’t think I’ll have time to really get into Last Call BBS though, Zachtronics games always take a bit to wrap my head around. The incoming games look really solid though, I’ve gotta try out Payday 3, Lies of P, and Lamplighter’s Leage. I was…
My way of thinking has been “you can port practically anything to Switch, it’s just a matter of optimization”, but... yikes. Some of those faces look like melted Barbies. Absolutely not throwing shade on the devs though, I’m amazed they got it to run on Switch at all. As much as I hate to admit it, I think the…
Streaming’s turning back into cable, and I’m afraid game subscriptions will go the same way after inevitable price hikes. I play enough Monster Hunter Rise and various niche indie games to justify PC Game Pass as it is now, but I know that at some point, Microsoft’s gonna jack up the prices to something ridiculous…
So kinda like Monster Hunter, but it lets you give an elemental effect to weapons on the fly? Neat!
I mean, the article’s pretty upfront about being a jokey article, the header image is Nic Cage. It’s not like it’s another “Things not to say to an X fan” slideshow. Aren’t they allowed to have some fun sometimes?
Meh, I got a 2-pack of nonstick skillets for 15 bucks there, they’re not my go-to pans but when I’m cooking sticky things like eggs or fish they’re really useful.
This article is a joke. That last part is like something from The Onion. I don’t want to be so critical of y’all, but article quality’s seriously dropped since the Ziff Davis buyout.
This type of crappy “buy this sub-par product for X amount off so we get a kickback from whoever’s selling it” thing started after Lifehacker got bought out by Ziff Davis a few months ago.
Don’t buy this. It’s so old it’s a security risk, since it gets absolutely no OS updates, and most programs probably won’t run on a Macbook that old. Plus, it’s on Apple’s “Obsolete” list, meaning you won’t be able to get any support or repairs for it. Even a cheapo Windows laptop will be miles better than this tech…
For those who don’t know a lot about vinyl, please don’t buy all-in-one turntables like these. They tend to use super cheaply-designed mechanisms that don’t sound very good and could accelerate wear on your records. There’s plenty of good turntables out there that are much cheaper and much better from reputable brands…
Nah, I thought the dialogue in NH was a lot more simplistic too. Nintendo sanded down a lot of the idiosyncrasies of NL and earlier. Some of it was definitely for the better (villagers asking before moving out makes me much less anxious about losing a villager I love), but I miss some of the ones that gave AC its…
There’s a lamb souvlaki in a piece of pita bread on there, probably close enough right?
