That hadn’t occurred to me, but you’re right. I was looking on Wikipedia, and there are a couple of pictures on there where they’re carrying weapons on their outer pylons, or carrying nothing.

During the cruise for Desert Storm, the F-14 squadrons on our boat developed an annoying habit of running into the radomes on our Intruders during landings. It happened 4 or 5 times, and we ended up running out of radomes in the entire Pacific. Took weeks to get the chain filled back up.
Having served on-board a carrier (back in the late 80’s - early 90’s), it truly was an awesome sight to behold. We had 2 squadrons of F-14’s, 2 squadrons of A-6’s, an EA-6B squadron, an H-3 squadron, an S-3 squadron, an E-3 squadron, and during Desert Storm, were on 24 hour flight ops, with Intruders and Tomcats on 5…
AFAIK, the F-35 can carry 15k external and 3k internal, equal to the Intruder’s 18k (obviously only external). Add in the Intruder’s all-weather and TF capabilities, and here’s another example of the 35 being a ‘Jack of all trades, master of none’.
About 85% of the Intruders got re-winged with the composite wings. The A-6F was about engine and avionics upgrades.
2. About the video images: this product is normal pixel recorder, it cannot achieve the result of HD, please note.
The best part of the video is the snappy jazz soundtrack, playing as they’re showing you either (a) their blatant engineering failure to secure the building to the ground, or (b) how the building performed exactly as designed, tipping to the side and gracefully lying down to insure the occupants of the building don’t…
My dad was CO of the rag squadron during the white years at Holloman, and he still won’t say much about it. He flew them while they were still black (including Desert Storm), and he won’t talk about either time period.
Wait, what?!?
Just out of curiosity, which one loss are you referring to? As of right now, they’re 12-0.
Dunno - it’s probably a moot point though, as I’m certain that there’s a rule that requires a certain number of linemen on the defense. Assuming they stick in the wedge though, a line of 350+ pound linemen could waddle 60+ yards and block 2 DB’s each - we’re not talking about a lineman blocking a lineman at that point…
Who? One of the most disappointing draft busts in history? The quarterback so bad that the Raiders unofficially retired his jersey number, so no one else was shackled with that number?
If there’s no D-line, entire Packers offense successfully runs the ball, with 8 guys in a wedge formation (4 of them 350 pound + linemen) blocking for the runner. Touchdown, Packers.
Under normal circumstances, all of the aircraft won’t be down there at the same time. They’ll be down there for maintenance, or to lessen the number of birds on the roof, and give them more room to refuel, rearm, and reposition. I was on the Ranger, and it’d take about 20-30 minutes to move 2-3 birds from the hanger…
My understanding is that it’s all related to a ratio... 2:1 is the magic number. If the cat:human ratio at any point exceeds 2:1, you’re a crazy cat person.
I find it ironic and slightly amusing that Gordon Moore (from Moore’s Law) is encouraging this chip development... when he himself theorized earlier this year that we’ve made so many strides in superconductor development that the rate of progress would reach super-saturation, and that Moore’s Law wouldn’t be valid any…
Your source says this:
The place we buy our stuff from, the best they offer is $94.50 an ounce. We’ve found their $15/oz product to be passable for our palates.
I guess nobody told UNESCO that. As far as they’re concerned, it’s real.
