Nice morality judo you got going on there. But no, I’m obviously referring to the impossibility of retooling a region’s economy from heavy industry to high tech. Google is not setting up shop in coal mining towns, and they likely never will.

If you’re putting them in a position to safeguard the country, you should conduct a thorough background check. The only reason you would be against this is if you cared about scoring political points more than security the country.
Like which ones?
I don’t get particularly butt-bothered when James Bond saves the U.S. from doing something stupid, when Russia glamorizes the Afghan invasion, or when Egypt wants to tell the story about insurgent fighters in Iraq killing Americans.
You see, this is why I don’t believe it when you guys say that this is weakening national defense.
And?
You didn’t actually address my point that a position that is vital to national security should be filled in less than 2 years.
Unless of course that recruit is being pushed through this unique process for a role that demands a security clearance. And if that role is so important, why are we willing to wait so long to fulfill it?
I’m saying nothing of the sort. The kind of specialties that demand foreign-born recruits will also typically require that they obtain a security clearance.
Hope this gets patched out. Xurching is a time-honored Destiny tradition.
You missed my point. Why should the DoD wait 2 years (or more) to fulfill a requirement that may be vital to national defense?
Two years leeway seems more than generous, and if they can’t fulfill their role within that time frame, it seems prudent for the Pentagon to look elsewhere to fill the roles they need.
Fucking gold medal mental gymnastics there, champ.
Insulting? Quote you, like five minutes ago:
Good for condoms and lube, too.
The fact that you think a factory worker or miner can just learn to code and get hired by Google in West fucking Virginia is precious.
I feel that if CA did this and Trump told them to fuck off, it would galvanize his voter base in states that actually mattered.
“Heroes never die!”
Agreed. What did the Outsider do?
