Boomers. They didn’t grow up with the internet, either as a young person or as a “digital native.” They’re used to a time where so much of what was printed/published or talked about on-air, that wasn’t National Enquirer, was taken at face value.
Like they do in other movies of this ilk, white people (especially older ones like my stepdad who saw civil rights from a distance but “loves” MLK) identify with Mortensen’s character and think “Yeah, see, nobody was really racist, they just needed to talk/hang out more.”
I’m going to use this phrase forever. He is one of the laziest “social scientists” of all time, and nothing he says is actually profound.
At this point, I’m fine with the opioid epidemic completely gutting rural and poorer white communities. They had their chance, we’ve warned them multiple times that this shit will hurt them, we’ve tried to show them why big pharma is bad for them, and they don’t listen.

Atlanta is the best hands-down, simply for its symmetry and abdundant food options in every terminal.
LaGuardia is going to blow Newark away when the construction is done and yes, it’s rapidly progressing. LGA is by far the best simply in terms of convenience and proximity. Even at its worst traffic, it’s still not as bad as a regular jammed-to-the-gills Van Wyck trip to and from JFK.

The military is one of the most overrated things in the 21st century. There hasn’t been a truly “worthy” conflict since WWII where troops have died in larger numbers for an actual, meaningful cause.
