@The MSJ: I didn't say Avatar is a bad movie- I don't think Mass Effect or RDR are bad games either. Was just pointing out to the OP that games as a medium shouldn't be judged for peak artistic merit by their blockbusters.

@geiko: That's like saying Transformers 2 and Avatar invalidate film as an art form. Wait...
@Brian Crecente: That would be true, but I have a feeling this is going to become a Battle of The Community Managers. Easy(?) solution is to just have a Members only poll as well, that way Kotaku regulars can gauge the local taste.
@Shinta: Giggled.
@Antiterra: Wait, ME2 isn't a titty game?
@Phaz: I love how that doubles as the feature list. They should just make that the back of the box.
@Demonbird: Ok, I just figured cuz this was a Brink thread and all... Anyway, I just played Quake Live all day, so my memory is pretty thoroughly jogged.
@dracosummoner: I'm a big fan of walking away from an RPG with unique stories that can surprise people who've played the same game, even completists.
@GamerKT: Totally different games- Bulletstorm is an arcade shooter, Brink is a team based shooter.
@Demonbird: Weapon pickups makes map control a key strategic element- however, Brink's gameplay is objective based, so you're trying to defuse bombs, escort tanks, capture spawn points. As such, other gameplay elements take that role.
@senselocke: Can't say I understand your reasoning, but I agree they shoulda put female characters in. For some reason, lots of people have that reaction to Brink, whereas it doesn't come up in other shooters. I have a feeling the women of Brink would look awesome.
@Nexus6: Gotta agree, I'm tired of playing with little army figures. Also, the body types and bold color schemes lead to clearer gameplay cues.
@Trakata: Your post is like a cross between succinct and referential.
@dracosummoner: I'm not arguing that ME1 was perfect, just that the streamlining of ME2 wasn't for me. I'm aware of the reasons the design team did the things they did, and it made for a more accessible, clear experience.
@Archaotic: If you've got a copy of Doom3 Win/Lin/OSX- Hexen Edge of Chaos has started releasing playable material.
@dracosummoner: ME1 wasn't turn based, but it could be played in a more strategic way by pausing and combining the effects of ammo types, psi powers, etc via various team members to solve combat in a variety of ways.
Obviously a joke. But... even if it wasn't, what's so bad about people sharing the pie? Fucking greed-heads ruin everything.
@Manly McBeeferton: That's why every thread has three images from the video and as many youtube links. I don't mind, but if you look at the last three articles 'bout this, the same damn Kotick/beastie boys images get posted. Gol-darned internet echo chamber.
I don't know about you folks, but I like Role Playing Games. If i wanted to play Gears of War, I would. I don't- I want a great Space Opera RPG. You know, like ME1. I LIKE crazy inventory systems like the Witcher. I LIKE cruising around the universe like in Masters of Orion. I LIKE turn based strategic party combat…
@BleedingThumbsMurphy: The tedious parts of RDR were enjoyable to me. The skies and the animal AI, just wandering through this expansive, beautiful land- it had a very immersive feel to it. Honestly, that's what cowboys do, and I felt like a got-damned cowboy.
