Maybe you didn’t understand...it’s a BMW. It doesn’t have turn signals. Duh.

Honestly, there’s no way this can be explained away as just being stream-of-consciousness from someone who’s not legitimately antisemitic. I’m Jewish, and in 33 years I’ve never heard someone use the word (let alone call me it) except in movies or to specifically list it as a racial slur. And it’s not like it’s out

This study is heavily flawed (which is another point of peer review - to check the methods used, not just the results). California is one of the states that actually has a heck of a lot of infrastructure built out at work places for charging. I was just talking with a co-worker this weekend and she has charged her car

I bought one of these on a lark a couple years ago.  I like it so much that I don’t think we will ever be without an electric car as a family.  Now I just need to save to upgrade to an electric “fun” car.  It is a fantastic commuter for our family and stupid cheap to maintain/charge.

Have a 15, and it’s absolutely one of the best cars I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned and E60 M5 6MT, and a E55 AMG estate.  It’s the perfect city commuter. Anonymous and just so easy to park.

Agreed. We have a 2013, and while not faultless, it's been cheap to run and fits our "run around town" needs perfectly. It's a great 2nd car for a family, particularly if that family has a place to charge it.

I remember being told by an engineer that for many vehicles designed for the Indian market, especially work and utility vehicles, you should always assume that the way the car or truck will be serviced will involve little more than a pit in the dirt and a hammer.

It all depends on the Company, for sure. Geez, there are so many factors here! Was there a yard crew that put the train together? OR was it the road crew? Was the yardmaster fully documenting the consist? Where were the switches and who had control of them, IF they were even electronic? If it’s a private yard, who is

What you are talking about it called PTC, Positive Train control. It has supposedly been “Ready to Operate” for years now, but the railroads keep requesting pushbacks on the date they originally told the Federal Rail Administration they would have it done. It was first signed into law in 2008 i believe, and they have

Please, as someone who has hit multiple deer, all at night and at speed there’s no way you don’t see things illuminated by your headlights 4 feet in front of you.

That’s partially true, but it is a lot more nuanced than that, and each jurisdiction has their own spin on things.

I design roads for a living. The posted speeds are based on science and are far from arbitrary.

It’s got a cop motor, a 130 kilowatt plant, it’s got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks...

Not only will he get more responsibility and accountability at the company, but he’ll get the same pay he was getting before, too!

Airline industry engineer here: This isn’t news. Furloughed aircraft need to be started and run up every week or so - they’re a million moving parts not designed to sit still. Engines get funky (fuel and oil pumps, air compressors, corrosion at the bottom and tops of the nacelles, tips of the compressor blades,

Airplane mechanic checking in here. This is no outside the parameters of normal usage or in this case lack of usage (airplanes in storage). The 5th state bleed air check valve is a spring loaded plunger like check valve who’s purpose is to prevent back flow of 5th stage bleed air from the other bleed systems on the

I’m sorry, but as much as I like Ridley Scott as a director, the fact that he feels everything needs an explanation just says to me he doesn’t get horror. Sometimes not knowing works better, and his attempts/need to explain everything are just Lucas and the prequels redux.

Between the novels, comics, AvP franchise and all that, the canon is entirely thrown out the window. Clearly Scott feels the story is his to write regardless of earlier story elements, including from his own films (which to be fair, is technically true, but does make the story less satisfying for the audience).
